First of all, please
introduce your band to the readers.
Alessandro: Well, first of all ITH is the music
that I make, the music that I create … a project
starting from my pieces, the pieces I record in my
recording studio. Secondly ITH is the production of a
good “live” with the support of the band that plays with
me and with the valuable help of friends/artists in
regard to photographs and videos.
Why did you choose this bandname?
Alessandro: Because I’m sure that something
exists somewhere.
How would you describe your music and why?
Alessandro: My music, first of all, is “genuine”.
In other words I don’t try to create something for the
other people. I only try to satisfy the first listener:
me. And all the rest could be meaningless. Of course, I
like very much to receive opinions about my music, even
if they are negative. To come in for criticism means for
me a sincere and useful meditation, a direct contact
with other people. That could be something constructive,
and I’m sure it’s very important for a musician. Anyway
my music embodies my passion, a primary need and an
outlet for all the tension I have built up.
What are your main influences?
Alessandro: If I quote NINE INCH NAILS, you could
think that it’s a rather banal idea. In them and from
them you can always find a good number of contaminations.
Many different groups exercise influence on me. I like
disparate groups: from MELVINS to DEPECHE MODE, from the
rock groups coming from the last decades of the XX
century (e.g. THE DOORS, STOOGES, RADIOHEAD.......). A
lot of groups have changed over the years. And I like to
observe this change.
The release of your EP 'Do You Want To Play With Me?'
brought you various good critics from all over the
world. But, how do you look upon that EP yourself?
Alessandro: It’s only a beginning …
What are in your opinion the good sides of the EP?
Alessandro: It is like you ask a father about his
own children. Which of them do you love more? No, I have
no favourite piece. I could say that The dream or the
reality is the first piece I wrote. So I often listen to
it and I like to play this song very much.
Various other Italian bands try to find their luck
outside of Italy, because of their bad experience with
the Italian scene. What are your experiences on it?
Alessandro: Now I speak from personal experience.
In Italy you are often chained to the “categories”. And
they create some little exclusive scenes. And the bands
or the groups are not valued according to their merits.
As far as I am concerned, that means a comparative
disadvantage. Well, I understand. If you listen to
indie, as a result of that you will avoid trashmetal
groups. But it’s better to open one’s mind to new
horizons. It’s impossible to find a strong underground
scene , if everybody turns in on himself.
Could you give us a description how a live show of
Into The Hole looks like?
Alessandro: Our live performance is more
aggressive than you expct. If you listen to the record ,
you’ll find a more secret and “refined” music.
What can we expect of Into The Hole in the near
future?
Alessandro: The release of the new record (it’s
already done!) with the help of someone that believes
this project as I believe it. And I hope to find
wonderful stages where I can play.
The interview ends here, thanks a lot for your time.
If you have some final words to add, please do it here.
Alessandro: First of all I thank you for the
opportunity you gave me. And I thank all those who’ll
like to get to know better the project INTO THE HOLE,
after this interview. And I hope to receive a lot of
opinions. ( www.intothehole.com

you again and see you soon.
