First of all, please introduce your project to the readers.
Christophe: Re: dux tion is a mixture of all my influences. It allows me to mix all the various types of music that I like into one. In some way I am trying explore the commonality amongst various forms of music. With this project I am able to create without any restrictions or compromises. There is a feeling that there is “no wrong” all is possible.

How did things get started with this project?
Christophe: In many ways this project was started as soon as I began to write music. Every time I would start writing new songs I would look to form a band. I would start the process of finding like minded musicians, then rehearsing then performing then breaking –up. This time I wanted to get out of that cycle. I never wanted to be a “solo act”, it is by circumstance and past experience that brings me to where I am. I must say that as much work as it is being “solo” I find myself to be at my most creative and thoroughly enjoying Re: dux tion.

Why have you picked this particular name for it?
Christophe: I picked this name for the meaning of “reducing” – down to its’ essence. I liked the way it sounded – the name doesn’t give a hint as to what I sound like, therefore I can sound like what I want. No preconceived idea as to what you are going to hear. Also I liked the idea of bit-reduction and the sound you get when you do that. It adds a grainy or distorted quality and that idea appealed to me sonically.

How would you describe your music? And what are your main influences?
Christophe: I would describe my music as industrial. I have been a fan of the genre since the mid 80’s. “Industrial” is a broad term that incorporates a lot of elements and mixes well with other forms of music. In my case I mix it with drum and bass, glitch, dub, metal and ambient. My main influences would be J.K. Broadrick, Autechre, Skinny Puppy, Trent Reznor, Foetus, Goldie and the scores to “horror” movies.

Your 'Three Lilies' EP received a good rating from our zine. But, what do you think of the release yourself? Has it any special meaning for you?
Christophe: I am very proud of the EP as it is the culmination of a lot of work and a lot of disappointment. It means to me that I can stand by myself and not have to rely on others to succeed. It is really an expression of who and what I am. From the packaging, the title and the music contained within you are hearing and seeing me.

What were the other replies on that release (by press and audience for example)? And what about your other release, 'Self/sub:vrsn'?
Christophe: The response to that release and to ‘Self/sub:vrsn’ have been very good. The most important thing for me is that people are getting a chance to hear the music.

You also released a song on a compilation on an UK label. Could you tell us something more about this song and compilation?
Christophe: The song is entitled ‘aRhythmia’ and it is actually the first completed Re: dux tion song. This song really began what is Re: dux tion. When I finished this song I had a sense that here was the sound in my head now realized in music. I had been searching for that “sound” and here it was, so it’s very satisfying to have that song connect with someone else. The CD is entitled ‘Songs of the Unheard’ and is being released by Violent Release Records(UK). It is being described as equal parts “desolation and heaviness”. That is itself somewhat of an apt description of Re: dux tion.

According to your biography you are also member of 'Drug of Choice' and former member of 'Die My Darling'. What kind of projects are/were these? Anything comparable with 'Re:dux tion'?
Christophe: Drug of Choice is more of an EBM/Industrial group. It has one thing you won’t hear as part of Re: dux tion and that is vocals. With D.o.C. I have the great pleasure of working with someone who I feel is an extraordinary singer – Tony Dimeo. Die My Darling was a Gothic/Industrial/Rock group from Los Angeles. Who did release a CD through Trisol in Germany.

What can we expect of 'Re:dux tion' in the near future?
Christophe: Before the end of the year I have a split CD with an artist from the UK ‘ToNG MeNN’. The CD will be dual 3” CDR entitled ‘Construction – Destruction’. It has four of my songs (Construction) and those same four remixed by ‘ToNG MeNN’ (Destruction). In the works is a remix for ‘Heat From a DeadStar’. I am also going be part of a threeway split with ‘True Colour of Blood’ and ‘Migra’. That CD is to be released in early 2007. Another split CD for 2007 with ‘Surrain’ and lastly a full length Re: dux tion CD in early 2007. There are a couple more projects in the works but not yet finalized.

Ok, the interview ends here, thanks a lot for your time. If you have something to add, you can do it here.
Christophe: I would just like to thank you - Gerardo for the opportunity. I would also like to thank my newest “friends” and also my oldest and dearest.
