Hi, and thanks for this
opportunity! First, you can introduce your band to the
readers.
'O' (vocals): Let's just say : " UNDERCOVER SLUT,
or that motherfuckin' industrial glamour punk terrorism
act everybody seems to hate, but is secretly deeply in
luv with... "
Why did you choose a bandname that would sound like a
link to a porn site online?
'O': Because of the word SLUT. Sluts are
everywhere, most of 'em are very UNDERCOVER... You don't
even know who they are, until it hurts you real bad...
The music you guys make is very powerful and hysteric
here and there. How would you describe it yourself?
'O': UNDERCOVER SLUT is nothing less than today's
society mirror...
Your music reminded me to bands like Punish Yourself
and a little Marilyn Manson and Dope Stars Inc. What do
you think of those bands? And what are your main
influences?
'O': That "god of fat" needs to call it quit, and
I barely heard about those 2 other bands. Also remember,
I'm only here to promote UCS, no less.
After some releases on Hateful Society Production you
signed to Apokalypse Records. How did they get in
contact with you? And how do you look back at the time
you were still under Hateful Society Productions?
'O': HATEFUL SOCIETY PRODUCTION is our own
production company. We've released quite alot of indie
products under that name. UCS was very DIY at that time.
That Apokalypse fat ass bitch came up to us with what
seemed to be a decent deal at the time. We signed it,
then released that "Communism Is Fascism" album. We
weren't really happy "working" with that motherfuckin'
crook. Fortunately, that thing with that so called "label"
lasted for less than a year...
And why did you decide to leave them after one
release already to sign at Free Will records?
'O': Free Will sent one of their rep. to offer us
contracts right after our Paris show with REBEL REBEL.
Since that Apokalypse asshole got on my nerves after a
while and Free Will offered us greater business
opportunities, the change was easy; from that shitty
French label to that international structure that is
Free Will, there was absolutely no hesitation on moving
forward.
There are some good industrial bands coming from
France, like Punish Yourself, Dagoba, Malmonde, Kill The
Thrill, Crack ov Dawn and more. What do you think of
those bands yourself? And how is the scene over there,
how popular is it with the audience?
'O': I've never heard most of those bands you've
just cited, that proves how much I care about the "music
scene" over here. I am not into what's going on
musicwise in France. France, the way I see it, is
lacking originality and quality ! There's nothing cool
about France. No decent music, no decent movies,... The
only good thing about it were those recent black and
white riots, at least some kind of thrills for such a
boring republic...
You are operating under a certain image. How
important is image for a band like Undercover Slut? And
why did you choose an image like this?
'O': We just don't wanna look like shit.
Powerful music and a certain image usually give a
good live performance. What can a stranger expect when
he visits a live gig of Undercover Slut?
'O': Expect the unexpected !!! No choregraphies,
no lame 80's songs covered for the sake of money...
You have been touring through America this year. How
was that experience? And how were the feedbacks they
gave you?
'O': "Cash From Chaos" Amerikkka Tour 2005 was
our 3rd U.S. Tour in 3 years. American kids dig
UNDERCOVER SLUT. U.S. youth needs more UCS. We'll be
back in 2006 for more live exposure.
What can we expect of Undercover Slut in the (near)
future?
'O': A new bomb " Inside That Cult That Loves To
Terror " will be out on February 14th, 2006 via Free
Will.
The interview ends here, thanks again for your time.
If you have something to add you can do it here.
'O': Thank you for the freedom of speech. Please
