First of all, please introduce your band to the readers.
Richard Christ: The band is based on a strong friendship, and evolved into a serious project: three components like the perfect number. Every one of us represents a kind of music which is impossible to sort out in our type of music: glam-rock-industrial. It doesn’t have anything to do with the devil or whatever, it’s just good in bad, and bad in good!

How did things get started with the band?
Richard Christ: The band was created by me and Egon after several years of live shows with our Marilyn Manson tribute band ´Posthuman´, with who we played on stages from Los Angeles to Budapest. We grabbed all our musical influences which we had from the beginning together and started this new band.

Why did you pick this extravagant but recogniseable name?
Richard Christ: Well, as you know, Richard Christ is not just the bandname, but also the name of me, hehehe. Richard derives from my first name (Riccardo), and Christ has the same first letter as my last name. I intended to create a character thats as important as Christ in the Christian culture and in all time history, to join our musical and artistic qualities, in order to create miraculous songs.

What are your main influences?
Richard Christ: We have too many influences to mention. To mention just a few: Jesus on the Bible, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, The Doors, the 80’s, Queen, Nietschze, drugs, UFO...

Last year you’ve released the Ultra Violent Messiah demo. What can people who blindly buy it expect from it?
Richard Christ: It’s a prelude to an album which has faith or non-faith in rock. It’s not labeled, and it’s for everybody who wants to be swept away for a while to return later... for everybody who is seeing their own life in this soundtrack.

The demo got a nice review by our zine, but it also had some points of critic. What are in your opinion the strongest and the weakest points of the record?
Richard Christ: At the first listening they will try to compare it with Marilyn Manson. At the second listening it will become clear that there’s much more in it. Then, at the third listening, the feelings and the atmosphere will enter everybody’s innocent little ears for good.

What is in your opinion the best track on the demo, and why?
Richard Christ: I like every little child we create, but the track on the demo I like the most is ‘Eyes’. It is sexually attractive and infinitly sad, I’d say that in some way or another it reflects the world we live in and our lifes where our society is based on sex and love, money nad the ability to find sadness.

How do you usually create your songs?
Richard Christ: In the beginning I compose most of the dark parts on the album alone, just to get in the abyss as much as possible. Then, me, Egon and Mark compose the rest of the music until the song is finished and we’re all satisfied with it..

Your band is based on a certain image. How important is image for a banc like Richard Christ?
Richard Christ: Surely we don’t intend to mask ourselves too much. We are what we want to be, and we don’t expect that everybody likes us. Our image is the fusion of three musical categories, taken up to the extreme with a touch of pure dirt and ‘live’ devastation.

Many talented industrial acts from Italy try to find their luck out of Italy because they had terrible experiences with the local scene over there. What are your personal experiences on this issue?
Richard Christ: It’s true, Italy doesn’t have the equipments and it will probably never become a good place for live shows like ours. My own experiences are most of all taken out of the time I was still on tour in Italy with ‘Posthuman’ (the Marilyn Manson tribute band), so we still have many people who follow us and our songs. Therefore, there are still various clubs that give us a chance on their stages.

What can we expect of Richard Christ in the near future?
Richard Christ: We unfortunately had to postpone our full lenght release date, because we will do the final masterings in Rome with a huge production and I think that it will be out in January. This album will officially be distributed by a label, but we’ll keep this stuff for ourselves to have some excited news next time!
