First of all, please introduce your band to the readers of the zine who aren't familiar with it yet.
Dark Door is a project and a faith. we choose the hard tunes of metal and industrial to represent a post-modern era and madly mechanic and automatic, fusing them with gloomy and gothic "colors" that well marry the Italian language and the esoteric methaphores of our lyrics.

How did things get started?
Dark Door was born from out of Psychoductor and Noctifer's attitude for the gloomy themes of actuality, mirrored in what human kind has always tried to represent with horror plays, novels, movies, etc...

How would you describe your music - and why?
We are not a big fan of definitions and terms, but you can describe us as a "dark metal industrial band". For us "Dark" stands for gloomy atmospheres and obscure notes, a perfect frame for the themes we speak about. It's all based from old Italian culture, which is not so sunny as people think... Metal and indusrial sounds are the point of force in wich these obscure atmospheres meet the hardest tunes of metal and the futuristic areas of electronic synths.

What are your main influences?
We got no influences at all! The only target we have is to be ourselves, no one else!

One thing that immidiately caught my attention is that both the webpage and the MySpace are fully in Italian - and there is no English section available. What is the reason behind this?
We are first and most of all trying to capture the attention in our country, that we believe too much blid for religious, politic and commercial poisons.

You're currently working on your first demo - what can we expect of it?
Our first demo is just a clearing and technical perfectioning of all the energy and the ideas that we already bring in our performances!

You seem very influenced by horror and thriller movies. What are your favorite movies? And me beeing a Dario Argento fanatic forces this question through as well - what do you think of him and his movies?
We love mute black and white classics! But we also appreciate what are called b-moves or splatter ones. We are proud about Dario Argento. We think he created a way to do cinema.

I did many interviews with Italian bands already, of which most had a bad opinion on the Italian scene. What are your views?
It's not the Italian musicians who are to blame but the Italian music commerce. The great Italian labels are only investing in pop music and standard images. It's really sad. Official Italian music - we mean, the music on wich labels invest - just has one genre, as you can see, which comes from TV shows as Sanremo or X Factor, that create characters, not musicians!

What are - next to music - your other passions in life?
we have several passions: writing, cinema, listening to good music, keeping nature and animals, visiting our beautiful country's artistic places, esoteric studies...

What can we expect of Dark Door within the (near) future?
we are going to bring the thruth to your home doors, showing everyone the there's nothing darker than what's around!

What will be the final goal to achieve for Dark Door?
To bring our music everywhere!

Ok - the interview ends here, thanks for your time. Got any final words?
We sing it to you in our mother tongue, the truly way we know: "Noi siamo veri, siamo della morte"!
