First of all - what is Khadaver and why was it formed?
Khadaver is a cyber trash trio (not to mix up with thrash as genre) from a small country named Slovakia in Central Europe. It was formed mostly from my urges to play this kind of music.

Why did you pick this extraordinary bandname?
Well, firstly, when people ask you what for "CADAVER" originaly means, you tell them it is basically a dead corpse of an animal. However, this is not the meaning or origin of our name, because we do not play death metal. It is like - when you say it to people it triggers negative emotions in their minds, so that is what it symbolizes for us - negative emotions of humans. Secondly, the spelling KHADAVER is to evoke the futuristic style that we play, the machines in our music. So to put it all together, our name symbolizes dark side of human mind combined with coldness of machines and future.

How would you describe your music, and what are your main influences?
To people who do not know the style, I often like to describe it as "Rammstein meets Cradle of Filth". Of course, this would be very vague, because we have more influences in our music than just that. As I am the main composer, most influences come from me - I am fan of gothic / EBM music combined with rock and metal, but also a fan of rock n roll like Motley Crue. Let's not forget black metal as well, because I was a heavy listener of it a few years ago. Our bassplayer, who adds his melodic bass lines to the music, is on the other hand a huge fan of mostly death metal, progressive music and jazz, so when you listen closely to the basslines you can hear the influences. And well, it is obvious, what the main influences for our singer are - mostly black metal, but he also digs industrial metal.

How do you usually create your songs?
Mostly I pick up my guitar and come up with some riffs or melodies that I put into the computer and add the keyboards after. Or it can also be the other way - some melody comes up in my head which I put into the computer as keyboards and then I think of the riffs. I also combine it with drums so sometimes the riffs affect the drums and vice versa. Then I bring the song to the rehearsal room where I play it and our bass player thinks of his part. Finally, our singer comes up with alien screams to lyrics and that`s basically it. We spend the rest of the time updating the song so it sounds totally kickass in the end.

Your debut EP - 'Beta Version' - recieved a good review on our webzine. What do you think of the EP yourself?
First of all - thanks for the good review, it is nice to know that the hard work is starting to pay off. I personally like the EP, considering that it is our debut creation recorded in amateur conditions, very much. We achieved the sound I always imagined, although next time I would like the guitars to have a more aggresive sound and the bass to be also heard more. But in the end - me and the other bandmates are very satisfied with it. So are the friends and fans so far.

What is, in your opinion, the best track on the EP, and why?
Eh, it is hard to choose the best track always from five, cause there are only five. I think that every track is unique and therefore the best in it's own way. But if I should pick only one to take to a deserted island, it would be Nuclear Fields - it has this chilling atmosphere and the vocals just sound badass and correspond with feeling of track and lyrics.

What is the message you try to spread lyrically?
There is no "real" message like save yourself from Hell or worship the Devil or whatever, haha. On this EP particulary the message is just my own view of future of mankind. It is not nice, I can tell you that.

The music you make would fit excellently with a killer live show. What can a stranger expect when he visits a Khadaver live show?
He or she can expect exactly what you wrote - a killer live show. Pumping beats, roaring guitars, bass melodies, sick screams and the three of us headbanging on all of this. I have the images in my mind of how our set should look like concerning the props on the stage but now it is too early for that, we have to get bigger first. We are very serious with our music but we also like to have fun on stage so it is definitely not a static stage show.

The Slovak Republic isn't really known for it's metal scene. How is the scene over there?
I can tell you that it is a shame because here are lots of quality bands who work hard. The problem is that we have our past as former USSR block and so-called "Eastern Europe" country (which is bullshit, we lie directly in the heart of Europe). Underground genres as metal or gothic are not supported at all. The bands have to find their places to rehearse on their own, record CDs for not so cheap, have to find their own distribution, etc. Also when you throw a gig you have to think really hard what bands to call so you will not loose money there. So concerning the inner situation, it is not 100% bad but it is not also cloud nine, if you know what I mean. Metal here is deep deep underground, cause on the radio stations you can hear some bubblegum pop rock shit songs rotating every day and brainwashing people's brains. I think there is only one - or maybe two - programmes on the radio who play metal for like 2 hours a week. And concerning the situation abroad, I personally know one band from The Slovak Republic who signed to a label from Western Europe and it did not end well, it was really bad luck for them because they definitely had the chance to break through in the West. So to sum it all up - we have many quality bands here who definitely deserve to be heard more by fans around the World.

What are next to music your other passions in life?
I am big computer fan, hehe. Used to be a total computer geek a few years ago, luckily another passion - sex - has cured this, haha! But when I am not with my girlfriend I spend the time browsing the internet, chatting or working. It is my next passion - webdesign and digital art. Apart from that I like travelling, sleeping and food. Yeah and good drink from time to time is not bad either..!

What can we expect of Khadaver in the year 2009?
You can expect many reviews and interviews, I hope! Then also lot of gigs, unfortunately now only in the Slovak and Czech regions. But we sure would like to travel more west to show the people there how three crazy Slovaks can rock the crowd, hehe. Concerning the music material, we have also other songs we play on gigs that are not on the EP, and I am constantly working on new ones. But I don't know if some recorded material will come out this year, because basically our debut came out in December 2008. We will see, but you should definitely stay tuned!

Thanks a lot for the interview. Got any final words to share?
My final words to you would be thank you for interest in us and for giving us space on INDUSTRIALIZED METAL. And to all the fans and soon to be fans only four words - support the cyber trash ! And also visit www.khadaver.com and spread the propaganda.
