First of all - who is DJ Xormic?
DJ Xormic is me - Bauke v.d. G, born on 15/04/1987 in Kampen, a small place in The Netherlands. I've had a long time passion for alternative music before I started DJing.

For how long are you a DJ already, and how did things get started?
In 2007 I started to do some DJ sets, just for fun. I quickly noticed that it was great fun, and that I was quite good at it too! My first ever DJ set was at a party in Woerden, a girl I had in my MSN list needed a guest DJ because one of the regular DJ's called in sick (like two days before the party). I said "Yeah, why not ?" and spun there. It was great!

What music styles do you usually spin? What can people expect when they attend a DJ gig of DJ Xormic?
In the beginning it was just a little mix of the regular EBM / Synth pop / electro stuff, but after a short time I tried to include some metal for some shows. Now I try to mix pretty much all of it ; industrial metal, EBM (oldschool and newschool), (rhytmic)noise, gothic metal, wave and experimental stuff. So - people can expect pretty much anything, I try to spin all different genres but it depends on what the crowd likes to hear. I love to play with the crowd! So - expect everything and nothing, and most of all enjoy!

You've already spun at gigs of names including Hanzel Und Gretyl, DeadCell, Schandmaul, Deathstars and Next Waste Dimension. How was it to play together with known bands like these? Did they give you any comments about your live show and music?
It's quite funny that you ask! Almost every band I perform with tells me stuff like ; "Wow! We haven't seen a DJ doing such energetic performances - you are totally into your music !". And yes, it's so nice to perform with all the bands - there's always a good vibe at all the gigs. In January (2009) I did a mini-tour with Hanzel Und Gretyl and DeadCell and I had the best time ever. I specially want to thank Marcus (DeadCell) for making it possible for me to perform on that tour!

What is the most funny thing that has ever happened during one of your DJ sets - and the most weird thing?
Lets see - there once was a girl who showed me her boobs, and so I forgot to put another CD in the CD player... that was definitely weird! For the funniest thing, I don't know to be honest... at every DJ sets something funny happens, from stealing beers from the Deathstars' dressing room to including some jokes into the actual DJ set - for example, a full dark electro and totally serious DJ set, then suddenly DEPECHE MODE's "I Just Can't Get Enough" from out of nowhere thrown inbetween!

What do you like the most about DJing in general?
I think it's just the feeling of beeing in control, to be able to control the crowd...

What are your other passions in life next to DJing?
I have a passion for photography - and I make a lot of music myself! You should check out my solo-project called 'System Negative' - at the moment I'm just searching for the perfect style to turn to with it.

Got any final words for the readers? Where can we check you out in the near future?
