Band: NEKROTECH
Track: My Own Reflection
Web : www.myspace.com/nekrotech

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Nekrotech comes from a small town called Vitoria, which is located in the North of Spain, in an area called Basque Country. The idea was born at the beginning of the year 2001 as an individual project that I created and little by little became a band with a live performance. Our style is hard to label because we mix electronic bases with guitar riffs but without rules or parameters, we never meant to sound like something or someone else.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
Even if most of our tracks are sung in Spanish we have done some in English. “My Own Reflection” is probably one of the most melodic and catchy songs we have, but it is strong. Besides, the female vocals (by Leti) make a big difference with the other songs we have written.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
Without any doubt is the biggest and best advertisement that we can have. A window to the open world where anybody can listen to us. It is clear, that nowadays people buy less and less records. Before, the problem was to release an album, today the hard part is to distribute it. Myspace and other social networks (facebook or tuenti) make everything a bit easier. In our case, we manage and update the contents and that means we have a direct line with our followers.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
Little by little people are starting to like this style, but here those people are still a minority. Exceptions apart, we are still far away from what is being done in some European or American countries. I think they are trying to copy what is being done there, but nobody tries to create anything new.

And what about the rest of the world?
The evolution in the last few years has been amazing. Maybe because anybody can make great things with a computer in his own house. But in my opinion, the mixture of styles is sometimes a bit sordid and senseless. I think that a lot of renowned bands are stuck, they no longer have ideas or they just make albums to continue living from things they already did before. Sometimes a bit of freshness is missing.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
Obviously, piracy has done a great harm. This was never a massive style so the impact compared to other companies has been smaller. Luckily, some smaller underground companies are still willing to do something for this style, releasing fewer albums and focusing on a more select and faithful audience. When the bad comes to worse, some of us are still standing - hehe.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
I have known you for a few years, I think about four, when I found you on the net. I have followed your evolution with the incorporation of new sections and collaborators. I think you do a great job and are a great support for bands that want to become better known. I hope you continue like that.

Do you have some final words to add?
Thanks for your support. And to anyone who might be reading this and want to know more about us, they can visit our official website www.nekrotech.com and our myspace www.myspace.com/nekrotech. Greetings and good luck!

Band: PHEROMONE
Track: Synthetic Angel
Web : www.myspace.com/pheromone13russia

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Band name: Pheromone - Country: Russian Federation - Year of Birth: 2009 - Genre: industrial metal / noise metal / electro rock - Band members: Nathaniel (vocals, electronics, ideas), Deimos (guitars, solos, percussions), Cassidy (guitars, percussions), Shayna (bass).

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
We pick the track called Synthetic Angel. Why this one? We love this song. And we want you to listen to it. We hope you'd like this song. We're writing the first album now, and we wrote the 4 tracks at this moment. Synthetic Angel is the one of them.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
We're living in the epoch of Internet. Now Internet is the unique way to promote yourself. Why not to use all the ways? We use Internet to promote our band. But it is not so serious as we want. The main goal for us is to reach a record label.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
In our native contry the views upon the local music industry are very native, haha. Seriously and unfortunately, native record labels are not interested in bands playing industrial, EBM or other kind of electronic music. It isn't claimed. But it is not for long - we're see the progress in this sphere.

And what about the rest of the world?
We think there are no any problem. There are a lot of ways for musical bands. Everyone can find everything he want to find. There are a lot of social networks, a lot of musical labels... Just do what you really want to do. Just ask yourself - what do you really want? If you want to create the music, if this is the love of your life - do this! A road appears under the steps of the one who walks.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
After the period of time songwriter should to decide to write the music for free or for money. Record labels is the great way to reach money. It's also the good way to promote your own band. We think record labels were, they are and they always will.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
Good question! The web-design of Industrialized Metal website is very good. It has attracted our attention. So, this is the main goal of graphic design - to attract the attention of people. So, you did it.

Do you have some final words to add?
Thank you for reading this! We hope you'd like our song.

Band: DIGITALIS PURPUREA
Track: Dust Devil
Web : www.myspace.com/digitalispurpurea

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Digitalis Purpurea is a one-man band, Post-Industrial Rock/Metal from Italy since 2003.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
I choose the song "Dust Devil" because it's one of the most catchy and charismatic tracks of the new album "Emotional Decompression Chamber" .

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
I think the internet is almost fundamental for all the music industry and not only.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
Major Italian music industry is very crappy but there are many interesting projects in the underground of course.

And what about the rest of the world?
Our new album is produced and worlwide distributed by the label Aural Music/Dreamcell11. We have a good feedback especially from USA, UK, Japan and The Netherlands and lately I'm pleasantly surprised out of Scandinavia.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
Record labels will disappear soon I think...

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
Independent zines and organization that support industrial music deserve respect.

Do you have some final words to add?
Thanks for supporting Digitalis Purpurea and keep it up the great work! For more info please visit our official site www.digitalispurpurea.net.

Band: MINIM
Track: I Never See You Cry
Web : www.myspace.com/minimspain

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Band: MINIM - Country: Spain - Born: 2007 - Style: Industrial-Rock/Cyberpunk.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
We chose this song because it's powerful, yet comes with clear feelings. It perfectly represents the LP to which it belongs, "9567: Here Even It's Yesterday". It's a good example of our work and style.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
For us the internet has done everything. Contact with our label MUTANT-E RECORDS, publicity for the band inside and outside our borders, advertising of concerts, contacts,...

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
The industrial scene in Spain is very small and poor. There are very few bands of ROCK-INDUSTRIAL. Spain is a Latin country, and it is clearly showing that in the culture in general. Right now in Spain, besides Latin music indie pop is also fashionable. The metal in Spain is dead.

And what about the rest of the world?
We think that the world scene is much better. Portugal, our neighboring country, has many more industrial bands, and of excellent quality. We loved the scene in Germany or France. We felt very comfortable on the last tour.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
10 years.....bufff!! We think that record companies in 10 years will be marketing agencies of the bands, and seals of quality. The music will be sold entirely digitally.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
Industrialized Metal - for us it was very important, because it was the first European magazine we have met that has opened some doors out of our country. It's been a very strong moral support at times we needed it.

Do you have some final words to add?
We greatly thank this new opportunity you have offered to MINIM in the European scene. It really is a good job!

Band: BLOOD
Track: Monseñor
Web : www.myspace.com/bloodwebsite

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Band: Blood - Genre: Industrial metal - Country: Spain - Founded in: 1998.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
For us it is an issue with a very critical lyrical point and it is important to make it known, apart from this it's a song we love musically as well.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
Yes the internet today is an important piece for spreading our tunes and to gain closer contact with other countries.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
In Spain, there is a very small movement of industrial music, unfortunately. We strive to open the industrial metal sceme and make it more known in this country.

And what about the rest of the world?
In the rest of the world the internet is the main force too!

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
The record industry, if it does not change the way they work, does not have a future. We believe in the virtual record companies and think that there are other ways that needs to get worked out for the labels.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
It is a very positive thing that has worked many years to raise awareness of industrial music, that is always appreciated. The Blood members are grateful for the support all these years.

Do you have some final words to add?
It is a pleasure to be on this compilation, and we'd like to encourage people to visit our websites and learn more deeply about the band Blood; www.bloodblood.es.

Band: HUMATRONIC
Track: Tetsuo
Web : www.myspace.com/humatronic

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Humatronic is an industrial/metal band from Brussels, Belgium. Mixing raw brutality with musicianship, efficiancy and complexity, Humatronic relentlessly seeks to renew itself, digging in the member's core of influences. Therefore, finding in it’s first EP (released mid-December 09), pure metal waves (hardcore to neo with post-rock and industrial) and solid electronic ground. Adding samples from the cyber-punk culture, held so dearly by the band (Akira, Testuo, the Fly...). Ensuing from a strong crave of freedom, the band decided, as a matter of principle, to record their songs by their own means.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
Tetsuo is one of our most efficient tracks. We love to play it live, giving all our energy to the people. It's also one of the most ''cyberpunkish'' of our EP, because of the samples and references to Akira (from Katsuhiro Otomo) and Tetsuo (from Shinya Tsukamoto).

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
All of our promotion as, since now, been done by internet. It's a great medium to share your music with the others! However, for our new LP, coming in September 2011, we hope to find a distribution contract with a label and getting more contacts with the ''real world'' ;)

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
It's so depressing! Sometimes, we feel like we're all alone in our small country. I think we just know 2 industrial bands in Belgium. The others seems not to think that it's possible to make somthing different than ''HEADBANG-METAL-TROLLS-HATE-SATAN-GROWL-PIGSQUEAL'' shit....

And what about the rest of the world?
The industrial scene in France is so great! Just take a look to Punish Yourself, the Audiotrauma crew (Chrysalide, Twinkle, Sonic Area...), Dexy Corp_, Moshpit... and you will understand. They are just re-builing the notion of industrial music :)

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
Who knows? I prefer to make music and not to look too much to what's already happening to the music industry... (Who said Black Eyed Peas?...)

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
I hate it...haha! Of course it's a great idea and you have our full support!

Do you have some final words to add?
There is happening things around us, to our societies, pay attention to it.

Band: THE BOMBS OF ENDURING FREEDOM
Track: Stand Up Now (If You're Brave)
Web : www.myspace.com/thebombsofenduringfreedom

So here we have another free The Bombs of Enduring Freedom release... the first obvious question of course, why another free release in stead of a physical one like "Kalashnikovs & Car Bombs" ?
Free releases suit The Bombs more than CD releases. This is for two reasons ; the political currency of our themes is quickly last years news, and also we just want to get the music & message out there as far and wide as possible. Plus, when you are releasing music that criticises the economic collapse we are still enduring, you cant expect people to easily shell out their unemployment benefit for music they want, when they cant even afford to pay the gas bills. Saying that, we are planning a strictly limited edition CD of our favourite tracks from over the past few years. Probably some time in mid 2011 (keep an eye out on www.deathtomusic.com for more details in the coming months).

First thing that pretty much stands out is the artwork. What's the message behind this "molotov" ?
This is a continuation of the destructive titles, but is the first to not have the word 'bomb' in ;-) A molotov cocktail is a deadly weapon that any street protestor can make in abundance in order to attack their oppressive governments. In Cairo, Tripoli, Athens, Paris, London, Washington DC, Tel Aviv...

Within this release we find songtitles such as 'Obamageddon', 'Stand Up Now (If You're Brave)', 'World Wide Anarchy' and 'This Is The Israeli Navy'. What all has inspired you for this EP ?
Well - 'This Is The Israeli Navy' is of course all about the attack on the peace flotilla that was taking aid to the Gaza Strip. This was a real moment of truth for the wider public concerning Israeli oppression of the indigenous population, beyond those who already share solidarity with the Palestinian people.

After listening to the tracks I think many people would ask themselves ; where the Hell do you find all these 'vocal' samples ? What are your resources ?
You would only find this stuff if you are actively interested in furthering your knowledge. If you arent autodidactily inclined and only follow the mainstream press / opinions then you'd probably never find this stuff. Some of it's serious ('Israeli Navy') and some of it's light-hearted and darkly comical ('You Cannot Get Charged').

'Obamageddon' is obviously referring to the United States - Iran relationships. With all that's happening in the Arab world (Tunisia, Egypt, ...) these days, do you think such events will be happening in Iran as well ? And what role will / might the Obama administration play in it ?
Yeah - wikileaks released documents days after the uprising in Cairo, detailing the US's predictable behaviour as an 'agent provocateur'. What we have to remember, is that most of the middle eastern tyrants were trained in the UK at Sandhurst miltary school (Mbarack, Gadaffi, Saddam Hussein & King Hussein of Jordan), and European / US based powers effectively put them into office in the first place. Now it's all change, but it's still a policy of the 'arab facade' ("Back in 1918 the British government's Lord Curzon decided Iraq should be ruled by an "Arab façade" -- "veiled by constitutional fictions as a protectorate, a sphere of influence, a buffer state, and so on.")

'Climategate' has an obvious message ; global warming is a scam. In these times of 'climate scepticism equals ignorance', what makes you so sure about this ?
The whole 'anthropogenic global warming' idea is totally transparent now. It used to be that if you argued against it, you were ultra conservative land owner who had money invested in Oil. Now the truth has started to come out about the carbon trading scam, the suppression of scietntific data that disproves the theory and also the massaging of data collected to match the computer-generated models that have come up with the stupid results that we'll all be drowning in rising sea water by next Tuesday. It's a band-wagon that a lot of green lunatics jumped on, and now the wheels are coming off (which is a good thing, because these eco-fascists always reach the same dangerous misanthropic conclusion ; the only answer is de-population). Dont get me wrong - our ecology is fragile, conservation of our environment should be of paramount importance - but this should be reinforced with common sense arguments - not some crackpot idea dreamed up by someone on the payroll of Margaret Thatcher ! If you are interested in this stuff, you need to see Channel 4's 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' (link here ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaTJJCPYhlk ). This keeps getting deleted, but just reappears in greater numbers !

The song 'Stand Up Now (If You're Brave)' will also appear on the next volume of the 'F**k Em All' compilation series. Why did you pick exactly this track ?
This track is of the moment - it reflects what is going on with civil unrest on every continent due to the austerity programmes being carried out by the bastard governments who are all in the pockets of the bastard bankers who created this problem in the first place.

What makes "Molotov" different than preverious releases such as "Kalashnikovs & Car Bombs" and "Bomb The Bank" - musically and lyrically ?
Lyrically and thematically it's very much the same as it has been since the first album - musically, horizons have both broadened and retracted. The sampling is both obscure blatant, and the music is altogether tougher and harder. Industrial Death Dub is the future !!

What else can we expect of The Bombs Of Enduring Freedom in the year 2011 ?
As I have said, we'll be working on a CD of the best of what we've done so far (the vast majority of which has only been available as download) as well as brand new tracks with more guest appearances.

Got any final words to finish this interview ?
No Gods ! No Masters !

Band: BASSOOKAH
Track: Kathmandu
Web : www.myspace.com/zxmxm

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
BASSOOKAH is a drum'n'bass grindcore duo from The Netherlands. Formed in 2008, but the real kickoff was basically 2009 with the first song recordings and one year later the first releases and live gigs. We mix - or at least try to mix - the brutality of grindcore, death metal and cybergrind with the energy of drum'n'bass, jungle and breakcore.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
It's one of our newest tracks, and an unreleased one until now, so first of all we thought it would be fun to submit an exclusive track. Next to that, we feel that "Kathmandu" is pretty representative for the "newer" BASSOOKAH sound, and out of all the newer tracks it's definitely our best... jungle and drum'n'bass and grindcore thrown in a blender !

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
Without the internet this project probably wouldn't even exist ! We downloaded drum machines and other weird sound making software from it, we spread our music through it, we search for live gigs through it, we find people who are interested in our noises through it, we're releasing an exclusive track on a DTM compilation through it... anyway, you'll get the idea !

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
I think "The Netherlands - good bands, crappy labels" sums it up pretty well. Think of stuff such as DeadCell, Next Waste Dimension, Haeckeflosse, Rompeprop, Krush, Jesus Crost, Putrefied... most of them are on foreign labels. I think out of the more known labels from The Netherlands only Displeased Records did release some nice stuff every now and then some looooong time ago...

And what about the rest of the world?
We're not so much of an experienced band yet when it comes to this, but I feel that there probably isn't too much difference. Good bands and good music are everywhere, just as low life record labels trying to make some bucks out of them.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
If they haven't dissapeared by then already I think their role will be much smaller than nowadays after all. Maybe some more independent labels will get more known, or bands will just release every release themself..?

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
Just two words: total support !

Do you have some final words to add?
We hope you enjoy our track 'Kathmandu', and that it will make you wonder how other songs of us sound. Check www.myspace.com/zxmxm or www.soundcloud.com/bassookah for some tracks, and download the "Nobody Gets Out Alive" EP for free on NKS International (nksinternational.free.fr)... and come visit our gigs if you're around here !

Band: VUURHEMEL
Track: Shadow Of My Death
Web : www.myspace.com/vuurhemel

Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
VuurHemel (Dutch word for Fire in the Sky) is a one person music project with origins from Holland now living in America. The music here is dark ambient metal that can be both soothing as well as jarring to the ears.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
It is my newest opus and it captures the spirit of the sounds here.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
The internet is now the best way to reach the most people, since so many people has access to it.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
In America, the local music industry is looking for the next big thing. Commercial radio is geared for market share rather than playing more diverse music.

And what about the rest of the world?
The rest of the world is more open depending on your music one creates and where that median is being transmitted (internet vs. air).

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
More and more bands and musicians are taking control of their own music, but having a label support you can be a benefit.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
I am truly grateful to them for supporting all my music projects (ZS Concept, Project Zooom etc.).

Do you have some final words to add?
Thank you to all my friends and fans for the kind words and support. It is so appreciated.
