After the animal rights special, which brought us next to some hatemail as well quite a bunch of compliments, we felt it was time for a brand new special. And what better special could we think of than an anti-racism one?!
During our five years of work with the Industrialized Metal Webzine, we discovered and recieved requests from many different and diverse industrial metal bands. From political cyberpunk acts to humorous avantgardists and from straight forward old school bands to modern experimental dance metal formations – coming from every little corner of this big globe. We never witnessed any bands with a right winged ideology until halfway 2008. One request arrived and got denied, followed by two more. As well, an NSBM band with industrial influences came our way. We know and we strongly realize that these fortunately are some very small exceptions within the scene, but at the same time we think it simply cannot be tolerated.
The full Industrialized Metal Webzine crew, as well including our past members, have always been and will always be strongly speaking out against racism, as well the large majority of the bands within the scene. Therefore, it wasn’t a difficult quest to find bands willing to participate for this special.
To be found on this special: a total of 15 band interviews (plus interviews with the 2 Industrialized Metal Webzine staff members) shouting out against racism with wellgiven arguments - and covering a large percentage of the globe!

We've got - for example;
* Two South African bands (NuL, Terminatryx) explaining about the past apartheid situation and the current one in their native country.
* Croatian band Koh gives us an excellent view inside the situation in their homeland, referring to the past Balkan war and nationalist ideals within.
* Three bands from the U.S.A. (26z, DeathMaschine and full-latino formation Drones) explaining their views on the situation in the U.S.A. and the Obama expectations.
* Symptoms from Italy sharing their honest view (brought with a slightly sarcastic note) on their prime minister Berlusconi and the majority of the Italian people.
* A very interesting interview with Pakistan's one man formation Burzukh, showing us the situation far away in one of the countries described as a part of the 'axis of evil' by the Bush Administration.
* and much more to explore!
A few quotes - to get started:
"Racism is for people who need something to feel better, because they deeply know they are weak and have no self-esteem" - Symptoms (Italy)
"Racism? Sadly misdirected hate / Ignorant Bullshit !" - Burzukh (Pakistan)
"When it comes to racism and prejudice, ignorance is no bliss" - Koh (Croatia)
"Racism is a tool by which the government of the day uses peoples ignorance to carry out political agendas. It is happening ALL the time. Just keep your eyes open and be prepared to defend those around you - wether you know them or not." - The Bombs of Enduring Freedom (U.K.)
As well, we collected a bunch of useful links for you to check out, for some further reading and exploring.
We're very curious on your opinions! And in stead of having our mailbox bombed with many messages, we thought a guestbook would be more handy. Please share all your opinions on this special with us over here:
Write us and sign the guestbook with your opinions on this special!
Lets kick racism out of industrial metal music!
