First of all - who are you, what's your position on this webzine, and where are you from?
I am Arinne, a reviewer on the webzine, I am from Texas.
Could you describe your opinion and/or views on racism within 1-5 words?
It´s a horrible epidemic.
What are your views on your own country when it comes to racism? Bad? Worse? Not thát bad? Please explain.
It to me is pretty bad, I live in a southern state (I am giving a general - not an everybody in the south) but most seem to keep that the south will rise again mentality. The whole country seems to have fear against one race or another at any given time.
It seems some kind of sick ´trend´ these days to bring racism into alternative music, referring to terms such as 'nazi-punk', 'NSBM' and 'right-winged electro'. What are your views on this? Do you think it will become dangerous?
I think that it can definately be a dangerous trend even if the artists themselves are using it as a joke some one may take it more as actuality and do something crazy .
Did you witness any racist things during local gigs, festivals, etc?
I see racial things everyday, at gigs I havent seen it yet, mostly drunk guys willing to make a mosh pit. There was a lady that told me I couldn´t do her hair because I was white and did know shit about black hair, that really hurt... I do all hair.
Since the 'War on Terror' - lots of hatecrimes against Muslims were reported in the U.S.A., but on the other hand, a black president was elected recently. What are your views on all of this?
I think the racism will still be there, hopefully more hatecrimes will be viewed as hate crimes. I honestly hope so and not just for race but for gay rights as well people are people that is that.
Is there a lot of racism in the local metal scene over there?
Actually most of the racism seems to stem from rap music ive heard of more "wars" and "beefs" from rap music in the local area (not to talk bad about all rappers or rap fans).
Got any final words?
Hate can be stopped, teach and listen. Spread the word of equality. Thanks for reading!
