First of all - can you introduce yourself and your band to us?
Hi! We’re Javi, Jose and Mado - founding members of Spanish industrial metal band "Blood".

Could you describe your opinion and/or views on racism within 1-5 words?
Racism is just intolerable.

What are your views on your own country when it comes to racism? Bad? Worse? Not thát bad? Please explain.
As in many other countries, here in Spain, our own country, it is a pity but racism also exists. Here there are a lot of immigrant people (mainly Arabians, Chineses and Romanians). People say that they are stealing our jobs, but they are just trying to live as a person in stead of like animals in their own countries. They are working hard, having jobs no one here wants to do, so we should even thank them for doing it. So Spain is a multicultural country and we think that day by day the Spanish people are getting closer to immigrant people. Although, as it is in many countries, there are f**cking stupid Nazi boys with no brains, just trying to disturb.

It seems some kind of sick ´trend´ these days to bring racism into alternative music, referring to terms such as 'nazi-punk', 'NSBM' and 'right-winged electro'. What are your views on this? Do you think it will become dangerous?
You are right. Even Blood was accused of being Nazis, which is something unthinkable for us! We are just against all that shit. Sometimes people think that kind of things just because they haven’t really listened what a band tries to say with their lyrics, but just look at their appearance or listed what others say.

Did you witness any racist things during local gigs, festivals, etc? Would you reject an offer to play a show together with an outspoken right-winged band?
We’re lucky not to see racist violence at our shows, but we have seen bands singing about a perfect world in anarchy and they are really the biggest Nazis.

Would you reject an offer to play a show together with an outspoken right-winged band?
Thats a bit difficult to answer... we will never cancel a show out of fear. We think we will play and sing what we think, so people will realize what we are. One thing that's for sure: we'll never play at festivals promoting the nazi ideology. We are no racists, neither are we a right-winged band.

As well Spain suffered from terrorism, with the metro bombings in Madrid. Did this cause or increase hate towards Muslims? And how do you feel it is today?
We, the Spanish people, don’t hate Muslims, we hate terrorism. Is not a problem what colour your skin has or what religion you practise. Terrorism exists in all colours and religions. Politicians are also wrong when they cause unnecessary wars.

Your lyrics are always in Spanish. Did therefore some people see you as a nationalist or fascist band? Are there many right-winged bands in Spain?
Of course, in Spain there are right-winged bands as well, but we don’t know them... we are just not interested. As we said earlier, we were accused of beeing Nazis as well - but just for our appearance on the 'Psike' tour. In Spain it is very common to sing in Spanish and for that the bands are not accused to be nationalist or fascist. We just had some problems with some sector of Basque Nationalists due to our lyrics against terrorism.

Got any final words?
Just to tell you, we are proud of beeing able to say what we think about racism. Not just for skin colour, but in any term it could be considered.
