First of all - can you introduce yourself and your band to us?
Hi, this is Billy – the lead singer from the Argentine band Chrisallys!

Could you describe your opinion and/or views on racism within 1-5 words?
Well we basically do not support racism in any way.

What are your views on your own country when it comes to racism? Bad? Worse? Not thát bad? Please explain.
Our country is learning but it’s still divided. As far as I can see, there's still a lot that we have to learn when it comes to discrimination in any kind, but yet I believe that more and more people here are understanding that the only way to change things, is being the change yourself.

It seems some kind of sick ´trend´ these days to bring racism into alternative music, referring to terms such as 'nazi-punk', 'NSBM' and 'right-winged electro'. What are your views on this? Do you think it will become dangerous?
I think that in modern day, people do not know how to drive their fears, angers and hatred. The world unfortunately is ruled by hatred and ambition, and that drives a lot of people to fear and ingnorance. People fear what they don't know, and fear sometimes leads to hate... and so does ignorance. There's a lot to learn from different cultures, and we should be able to know that unity is what makes us stronger.

Did you witness any racist things during local gigs, festivals, etc? Would you reject an offer to play a show together with an outspoken right-winged band?
Yes I did, but not that much in our scene. I think that we would not share a gig with any band that would promote racism, I believe we are far beyond that kind of message.

In some South American countries the natives have lesser when you compare it to the "white" majority. How is the case in Argentina? What are your views on it?
Argentina is a mixture of culture, but yes of course ,we have a "white" majority, due to the great Spanish, German and Italian migrantions that took place within the 18th century and World War I and II. I think that there has been a lot unnecesary killings of American and South American natives in 19th century, but still we have our responsability to do something about it... and I think we still have a lot to learn about there cultures!

Are there many right winged bands in the Argentinian scene?
Not much really, I think that people are begining to learn a lot from suffering here.

Got any final words?
"Be the change you want to see in the world"
