Renown for its intensely physical liveshow, tight
musicianship and powerful crossbreed of metal and synth,
Black Comedy strives to break down traditional concepts
and rules of todays heavy music, captivating listeners
and fans of varying musical preferences. The concept of
the band is to combine elements from different genres
into one hard-hitting musical package. Its inspiration
derives from scenes such as synth, goth, trance, death
metal, experimental and progressive metal, as much as
mainstream metal. As the bands intention is to create a
mechanical, synthetic and futuristic sound, thus
enhancing the mystic feel to its music, they believe
that a more eclectic and diverse atmosphere may be
achieved. Based on these notions, Black Comedy chooses
to define its music as cybermetal. Ideologically, Black
Comedy has a sarcastic and ironic viewpoint to the human
comedy/tragedy. Approaching themes such as the ills of
society to personal/psychological problems, the lyrical
content is often critical and multi-angled, intended in
supplying the listener with momentums of both
seriousness and witticism.
