Burzukh came in to being in 2001. It is a one-man studio band formed by Syed Suleiman Ali (myself). After playing in various local bands including The Banned, Holy Black and Dark Death I decided to record and produce my work as a solo artist. Modern technology provided me with the boon of recording all tracks myself and thus Burzukh was born . The theme behind this solo project was and still is to make music unhindered by commercial concerns. It is also a more focused artistic vision than a typical metal band. Initially the Burzukh sound was black/heavy metal with gothic overtones but later gnres melted and mutated and now it stands as an amlagamation of of a lot of genres. My main influences are : Iron Maiden, Emperor, Neurosis, Cradle of Filth, Type O Negative, Napalm Death, My Dying Bride, David Bowie, The Cure, Ministry, Helmet, NIN and a lot of 70's classic and hard rock. I use Crate, Marshall, Wasp and Roland amps with Ed Stevens, Yamaha and BC Rich guitars. All the drums and synths are computer-based applications including Fruity Loops, Hammer head, Leafy Drums, Arcturia Storm etc. All my demos have been recorded and engineered using Cakewalk Pro.
