Can you see it? feel it? smell it? That, dear human, is decay, the rot that has infected us. We no longer think unless we are told to think, we don’t feel unless someone approves. We have become slugs at the feet of fat corporate monsters that dole out scraps to keep our mouths too busy to complain. We buy the dreams they sell us that are no more than phantoms, we eat their poisoned fare and beg them for more. We are dying, and we don’t seem to care. DM can trace its roots to electrogoth stalwarts Advent Sleep. Both N_ and D_ served on guitar for multimedia talent Michael Bann. Advent Sleep went on hiatus, as J_ started suture.seven with Advent alum Elton Nestler, followed shortly by N_ forming Schöne Maschine with Advent bassist Tim Bowman. Both achieved some measure of success, including CMJ chartings, shows with national artists, indie music coundtracks and both national and international club and radio plays... but as is often the case, the Maschines had mechanical difficulties. They went underground... until now. Now they pull themselves from the sludge of diesel, blood and bleak nightmares that passes for modern civilization. They have found new life in bolting together fallen fragments of man and maschine. Adding fresh-from-the-factory Eve L on bass, they have created a DeathMaschine, harnessing the rage and disillusionment of a world spinning out of control toward madness and destruction. This is the soundtrack to the descent of humankind into death, a middle finger of bone and steel to a world gone fat, complacent and blind.
