It's the fall of 1999 when five piedmont musicians decided to give life to a different project. Different from what they were playing or have played prior with other bands. Different from the majority of the music setting at the time. Different as a concept. Starting as a rough experimental project Infection Code became an out and out band. From the very beginning their identity is very clear for their music knows no boundaries, exploring genders ranging from the brutality of death metal to grind along the claustrophobia of noise and industrial coldness with a underground post-core ready to explode. '"We were just having fun, it all begun as a game. We all met when we all belonged with different bands and from the very beginning we knew we had a lot in common. That's why we decided to do something together, with no preconceived notions." says lead vocalist Gabriele. In 2000 the five piece release the acclaimed EP 'H.I.V. 999' with four songs revealing the band's cutting edge personality. Both Italian and foreign critics describe Infection's sound as groundbreaking, although complex and strenuous. "We off handedly wrote the songs of 'H.I.V. 999', we felt a creative compulsion that led us to the songs" adds electronics/graphics bassist Enrico. After several live shows Infection Code focused on their debut album "Life Continuity Point" released in 2001. On the album they carried on their courageous project becoming one of the fore-fronting bands in the Italian scene. Comparing them to the likes of Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah and Godflesh to name a few but in reality it is apparent they do not deny such influences for Infection Code stretches their extreme consequences to their intricate concept of reconstructing music. "Creating this album has not been painless, we had to face several problems inside our group and several others after the release of the album. Anyway it's been an important step in Infection Code's life because this is when we started to work on "Sterile", explains drummer Ricky. Shortly after finishing the full-length, two members departed ways leaving Infection Code to persist forward. Finding the additional element as a replacement former leader of post thrashers Arcadia, Demetrio Scopelliti enters the group adding to the intensity of an already established act prompting the band to record Aspasic. Land marking the group to higher achievements upon recording of the song it was proof enough that this band is indeed a force to be reckoned with. It is clear that Infection Code hates stillness. The song represents a further evolution of the piedmont group, and for this reason they decided to add it to the new album "Sterile". The members are well aware of their achievements but at the same time they know that their growing process is not over yet. They keep on portraying the standardized individual evolution. All human beings are trapped inside fixed patterns imposed on them by society. This concept is expressed in their lyrics as well as the graphics. In 2003 Infection Code are chosen to play a french tribute to Godflesh's song Nails shortly thereafter the recording of the song Demetrios departed ways in his replacement the band recruited guitarist Davide who brought fresh ideas to the mix. 'It's great to belong to the Infection family. I love their cutting edge sound, free from any gender classification. ..Sterile.. is totally different from the group's previous works. We managed to create something unique and I'm terribly proud of it." Davide eagerly explained. From the underground post-core sound, noted from the very early days of the band, is mixed with electronic innovations and explodes now with a larger than life roar. Producing the album in the Nadir Studios is Tommy Talamanca, from Sadist, who can rightly be considered the fifth member of the group and who succeeded in conveying the Infection Code's rage, pain and misanthropy into music. Sterile received good reviews in numerous European magazines and online webzines boosting the band to newer levels of professionalism. Performing in Italy along in Germany and Czech Republic the group shared the stage as a supporting act with named artists Anthrax, Cult of Luna, Barcode, Sadist and The Ocean. Presently the band is in the process of writing new material for their new album entitled INTIMACY. An album that opens a new sonic chapter where experimental noise meets the sickness and the feelings of human beings. Recording sessions start in January 2007 and the release date is scheduled for an fall 2007 unleashing. INTIMACY will be produced by BILLY ANDERSON famous engineer of such masterpieces as NEUROSIS-Through Silver In Blood and MELVINS-Houdini at Lowered Studios in San Francisco, California. Meantime the band signs a worldwide deal with Beyond Productions with a distribution on Masterpiece Distribution.
