Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Hello, i'm Darren W. Walling - I'm the creator of Beneath Eden. I'm 22 (D.O.B.)10/28/1986, and I'm from Hampton, Virginia (US). We call our own style 'Gothcore' and we hold no boundaries to the variety of our sound. If were in the mood for black metal, industrial or melodic, we create as per mood and of course a lyrical and conceptual basis. Our debut album 'Thelema' reflects the bitter oddessy pertaining to the vast theorym of 'Thelema', and I believe our greatest gift is our most vicious curse. The other members that perform in this band are TOBIUS-drums, DAVID-bass and JESSICA-Back up vocals and synthesizers. We have been through many members and have been together since 2003 performing with bands such as Disturbed, Korn and Jägermeister events with Art of Destruction. Since then we have evolved into more of an underground performance, and we have decided that it is best to stay away from the mainstream roots of music and the bullshit industry. I believe its garbage and the groups who come out with it. Writers fondling the lines of the reflecting CEO'S ignorant hunger. All this damned pop hopping crap really pisses me off.
Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
We picked 'Falling Away From Grace' for one of many reasons - 'our first evolutionary step' to industrial grounds and to be between the blackened hearts of those who welcome the face of the deep.
How important is and has the internet been for your band?
The internet is the most filthy, dirty ingridient inflammant to the band, its a plague needed to send your own garbage out to the world so others may feed off it, without this, I believe it would completely halt the progress leaving only cock rock greats such as 'Chris Daughtry' out there, which of course, hes ANOTHER preprogrammed puppet (image) to the music industry.
What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
For music in the U.S., great music exist underground. Everything else is for corporate buisnesses, and joyful events were pretty pink balloons float away in the sky. Fuck that, were we are... and the underground scene is amazing and upclose, for the one alike and not for the box of cereal.
And what about the rest of the world?
The world is a virus and within it are quaranteed nuclei, each within a zone of ignorance, and deep within every nuclei is a cell and some common and many uncommon but different as each part of the world. Each of these make up factions which will inevitably create a growing tumor and will kill its host. Every tumor such as a us (but a cell among many) will form, and slowly revolutionize the industry.
How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
In ten years, underground units will rise and major labels will attack, purchase and try to subside the underground communities.
What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
The Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions are a revolutionary step for those who are independent, different and rejected - to rise and have a chance at succeeding where as the pink-fuzzy-sausage-munchers, boasting on their deceitful successes, dont. I will support this webzine for as long as we perform, anywere and everywere.
Do you have some final words to add?
Final thoughts? 'Death to music...'
