Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Well, our band is called Noesis, and we’re from Cantabria, in the north of Spain. Our music is something like industrial metal with some electronic music. We started like a band at the end of 2004. First Noesis was a side project of our other bands (Fatal Portrait, Crystalmoors) with the intention of combining heavy and melodic guitars with an electronic based and programmed drums. The “experiment” slowly started to become a band.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
We think the track “Lost in Quasars” is representative for our music and for our cd “When All Colours Are Dead”. It has industrial metal, melodic vocals and electronics.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
Internet is a very big toolbox. Many people know Noesis because of the internet... I think it’s a big way of promotion for unknown bands in other countries, even others continents. And about the internet and the downloads... well, I think it’s unstoppable, so the industry must look for another way of making business.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
In Spain there are now a growth of industrial music such as gothic music, EBM etc., but Spain is mostly a country of rock and heavy metal bands friends.

And what about the rest of the world?
I think something is changing in the music nowdays. There’re no new sounds, but I think that the “new” pop and the “new” metal have something in common (I think). The problem in the music nowdays, I think, is the music industry. The business is not good for the bands; it’s only good for some people...

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
10 years ago the labels, and the music industry in general, were very interesting for the bands; not for the money, but for the promotion, etc. Now the things are very different: all the bands have a weapon called internet, and there are no barriers between the bands and the “listeners”. I think the promotion is the most interesting thing a label can make for a band. I you have promotion, you can play live, and if you can play live it can be more promotion for your band.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine?
The Industrialized Metal Webzine and Gerardo have been very important for us. Their support is big for the bands. I hope they will last in the scene for years.

Do you have some final words to add?
A big thanks to the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions for this compilation, and to the listeners: I hope you like it! There are a lot of good bands.
