For those who are still unfamiliar with Onirica - could you give us a brief introduction about your project?
It is a musical project formed by me, Jordi, I have released 'Antimatter EP' in 2008 through DTM Productions, so if you like the track featured on this compilation you should go and download that if you haven't yet.
Why was Onirica formed, and how did things get started?
I basically wanted to do whatever I wanted to do within the parametres of music, I thought local bands didn't suit my needs and then I started this project on my own.
What are your main influences, and how would you describe your music?
Influences come from a lot of different sources, mainly from electronica but also from atmospheric black metal, please note that I'm not pretending to do metal, as some fuckwits got that impression after reading a comment I did on another interview, I guess reading comprehension is not amongst their highest-ranked qualities.
You've already released a song through F**k Em All - Volume 2, so this addition will be your second one. How do you value the importance of compilations like these? Why did you pick exactly this track for the compilation?
Yes, that's the second one. I've picked 'If to smoke you turn' because I think it has got an energic rythm and a dark tone, it's one of my favourite tracks from my next release.
Many Spanish bands say "Spain has quite a bunch of talented artists, but the scene is devaluating and/or rejecting them up front already" - what are your personal views and experiences on this?
I don't really think Spain is very original when it comes to music, Spanish bands always try to sound like this or that band, putting creativity on the back burner.
So far you've released all your stuff through Death To Music Productions. Why did you decide to "sign" to an "anti-record label", specially as beeing young project?
I liked the idea of a label that releases your stuff in MP3 for free, this actually helps a young project finding the correct audience. I think all musicians should do the same.
What can we expect of Onirica in the near future? I heard a new release might be coming soon already..?
Yes, my next opus, entitled 'Exile', will be out soon through DTM, can't give an exact release date, but it will be out on march for sure.
Do you got any final words to add?
Not much, but I want to encourage all of you to download 'Antimatter EP' and keep an eye on the imminent release of 'Exile'.
