Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
We are Plutonium, an industrial extreme metal act from Sweden. We started back in 2003, released our first demo “Wind of change” in 2004 which led to an one album deal with swedish Khaoz Star in 2005. 2006 we recorded our first album “One size fits all” which was released 12/2 - 2007. One year after the release we started the recordings of our second album, which was written during the year of 2007. We are still working on it, and since we are unsigned for the moment we will take the time it needs to make a great album.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?

There are many reasons for chosing that track: it´s the title track of our album, and I think it shows several important elements of our music: it´s very fast, very aggressive, yet calm, melodical and atmospheric....a very hostile atmosphere that is! It is also one of our newest tracks on the album, and definitely one of our favourite songs. I think it gives the listener a great understanding of the core of our music and message!

How important is and has the internet been for your band?

Well, it has meant a lot. Of course there are still printed zines and non-webbased underground activities still these days, but that part is not as big as it was 10-15 years ago. So we of course promoted our stuff to web magazines, web radio as well! But it´s a cheap and interesting way to get new listeners. Myspace is good to check out other bands music as well!

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?

Concerning the metal scene, it is pretty boring and extremely conservative these days. A few good bands exists, but it´s mostly In Flames clones or neo-Thrash that rules in Sweden. Every time I check out a new band that has been hailed in the local metal press I mostly get the feeling that I´ve heard it all before. The pure industrial scene in Sweden is way more interesting...if I may be a bit harsh, the mainstream pop scene is generally more challenging than the metal scene in Sweden today.

And what about the rest of the world?

I guess it´s a bit better. There are definitely some interesting bands around the globe...But generally I have to say the “industry” sucks, the “music” rules, if you get my point!

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?

I don´t know really. I still buy records myself and also do some legal downloading, but I guess the illegal downloading have some good side effects: the music listener looking for something else than the products offered by the big labels will probably find the alternatives easier today. There will be harder for the industry to fool people into buying crap music. Also online compilations like yours are a great thing since I always considered compilation CD´s to be a waste of plastic... I mean the deals for underground bands where like: record a song, pay the label like 200 € and you get 20 copies to sell...and there were 20 other bands with the same deal. I guess many so called underground labels made a lot of money through these compilations during the 90:ies. Online compilations are great since noone get ripped off, neither the band nor the listener!

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine?
I like it! I think it´s great that you are specialized in the more industrial side of metal and I guess you as a webzine are quite alone of that. Most webzines are either generally interested in all or certain metal genres, but you have succeeded in focusing on a quite small section of the metal scene. However I shouldn´t say small either since metal bands that are labelled “Industrial” sounds quite different from each other, but I guess that´s also a strenght with the genre. Unfortunately I haven´t got time to read your site as often as I should, but I check it out every now and then, and I have to say I like the way your reviews and interviews are done.

Do you have some final words to add?
We´re working on our second album for the moment as mentioned, and you´ll be in for a surprise this time - at least that´s my intention! If you like the song you hear on this compilation, just check out our sites and order the album if you want. Thanks a lot for being included on this compilation! Take care and control!
