Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Hello there, we are Virgins O.R Pigeons, an electro industrial band from Greece. We started back in 2002 as a 3 piece band experimenting with digital and analogue sounds. The result was a mix of harsh electro industrial sound with the combination of fired up guitars. Some years later we got discovered by Kiwamu (guitar player of BLOOD) from the Japan based label Dark Labyrinth Records (ex-Cure records) and our first full length album came out in 2007. Lot’s of great reviews followed and the rest of the year found us playing concerts in European countries like Greece, Finland, Sweeden, Bulgaria etc.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
We didn’t! You picked it, hahaha!

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
As a matter of fact it is very important! Nowadays, because of the internet it is easier to stay in touch with all the fans, book concerts, answer to interviews and promote your music in general than it was in the past. Wherever you are (on the road touring, on holidays, getting rest at home etc), you can still work your ass pretty hard by just turning on your pc. Though the best way to promote your band and make your name bigger is the classic old school way. Being on the road! If you don’t do that you are doomed to stay stuck In your “local” scene-which is not bad, but I am sure that everyone wants his music to be heard by as many people it can be. This is the “curse” of all artists you know…

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
Hm… The last couple of years there have been some improvements in our local scene. There are lots of cool events and concerts taking place every month, also some great clubs have opened which helped this kind of music become more popular and led more people into this direction. Now about bands… There are 3-4 great bands that release their albums through foreign record labels, tour around the world and generally try to make their name more known. But the rest of them still need a lot of work, better productions and more knowledge about the music industry in general.

And what about the rest of the world?
Well, we all know that the metropolis of this kind of music is Germany and the central Europe generally. The biggest and greatest bands came out of this area. Bands we all love and admire. But the last couple of years there have been some good steps in other countries as well. The scene in Italy, France and Netherlands seems to be growing each and every day by giving us great artists like Tamtrum, Grendel, XP8, Die Form, Dope Stars Inc, Alien Vampires etc.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
It will sound hard but in my opinion in about 10 (or 20 years to make it more realistic) most of the independent and small record labels will be vanished (or sold to bigger ones) due to financial problems and most of the Major labels will become even bigger continuing their work (manipulating the masses). Actually this not goes for all major labels because we all have seen some amazing releases from few of them.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine?
Industrialized Metal Webzine seems to be a very serious site trying to promote the scene the right way. It is a great way for bands to promote their music in Netherlands and the best place for the fans to be informed about everything regarding the industrial scene by the right source. I am sure that the future will be bright for you!

Do you have some final words to add?
We want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to be included on the compilation and show to your readers what we do. We hope to see you all on our forthcoming tour. For more music, photos, news, video, tour dates etc visit our myspace:
