Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
LAHO is a finnish one man's industrial/electro metal project. I (Konsta) am the only member of this project. I have always been and I will always be. My music has no vocals at all and I'm not sure if it will ever have. Laho was born in 2006 when I wanted to try to make music on my own, without anyone else. After getting the right equipment to do it, it all started rolling fast. I was very much into industrial and industrial metal that time (and I still am), so the genre was obvious. The style has changed alot during the years but today the style has become more solid. At first it was more concentrated on metal music and nowadays it's more concentrated on electronic music. I have released one EP and one full-lenght album, and the second full-lenght is being written.

Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the compilation?
”The World in Flames” is currently an unreleased track. It is actually so new that it was finished like two hours before sending it to the compilation. I wanted it for the compilation because I wanted to give something special for it and that would be a brand new track from me. It's a very melodic track and synths are in main role in this one. This is most likely going to my next album which is currently being ”written”.

How important is and has the internet been for your band?
Well, to be honest without internet I would not be for example writing this interview right now. It has been very important to me. I have released all my albums through a netlabel (called Ekleipsi) and my music has been spreading all over the internet. I have never planned on trying to get a ”real” record deal and have my records being sold on a big record stores around the world. You can achieve the same (and even more if everything goes well) with internet.

What are the views upon the local music industry in your native country?
In Finland it seems that metal music is more mainstream than pop music nowadays. But after all we have many kinds of music in Finland which I'm happy about. Industrial and industrial metal is still quite underground here. I'm quite happy about the situation in Finland.

And what about the rest of the world?
Industrial/industrial metal is still quite underground around the world, if we are talking about them. The fans are from all around the world but there are not much ”mainstream” industrial and/or industrial metal bands around.

How do you see the role of the record labels in the music industry in about 10 years?
I think everything goes more and more digital all the time. So maybe in 10 years netlabels are ruling the world and physical albums doesn't exist anymore? Also, if everything goes all-digital, then it could be that artists would release their music more often on their own. I hope it doesn't go all digital, since I support buying CD's and physical albums are much cooler than just files on your computer with digital art and so on.

What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal Webzine and Death To Music Productions?
You are doing great work! You are keeping the underground industrial music alive which is great. I will totally keep supporting both of you in the future.

Do you have some final words to add?
Well first of all, big thanks to Industrialized metal webzine and Death to music productions for asking me to join the compilation! Also big thanks to all the people who have downloaded my music, keep doing it! Oh, and of course some self-promotion: Go and download my new album ”Escape From The Dying Star” @ beam.to/lahoescape !
