NuL was formed in 1998 as an experimental electronic music project, and initially consisted of Adriaan Pelzer and Simon Kruger. At first the music was mainly IDM inspired, but the sound took a turn in 2004 towards Industrial and EBM. At this point Adriaan moved to Singapore, and wrote most of the sound there. He also started the NuL website where all of NuL's music is publish as free downloads. In the beginning of 2006 Adriaan moved back to South Africa, and together with Simon and a few new members, created a live show, based on all the new material.
