Pentatonik is bitter, sour and dirty pounding metal from the Helsinki-Vantaa axis of evil in Finland. It’s a tastless mixture of electrifying instruments with a twist of disco/industrial just for the right taste to caress your rotting tastebuds. The music is more finnish than sauna itself and more commercial than W.W.F Raw on prime-time TV. In the year 2002, visioneure extraordineure named JP, gathered a bunch of no-good troublemakers around him and dragged them into an old and stinky boiler-room deep under the sewers of southern Helsinki. Without food, water and sleep JP turned these bastards into a no-excuses, no-bullshit group of Metal Commandos. A bit like Rambo actually. Without the muscles though. In May 2003 Pentatonik introduced themselves to the non-suspecting public with three dark songs and a music video from the song “Mustaksi muutan”. In February 2004 video called “Kelvoton” was published via internet. In July 2004 Pentatonik released the “Kelvoton” EP, including five songs and the “Kelvoton” video. The EP is a bit of a rarity since it was literally taken from their hands in no time. In December 2004 Pentatonik swapped their bass-player for a living and breathing one called MK to take over his rusty mechanical colleague. In September 2005 the debut album “II” was released through Berttaviihde. At the same time drummer JR was released from his duties and Pentatonik’s first drummer RG returned to the squad. In July 2006 Pentatonik released the “Hellä” EP, including four new songs plus a cover version of Armi & Danny’s in(famous) song called “Tahdon olla sulle hellä”. Currently Pentatonik is finalizing new songs for the second LP, a concept-album, to be released in April/May 2007 and preparing for upcoming gigs, such as MotoRock and Findustrial Metal Fest.
