Artist: TENEBRARUM
INFANTEUS
Album: Addiction
Year: 2007
Tenebrarum Infanteus is a band from France. The fact
that they're from France isn't an understatement at all.
A quick look on their MySpace shows me an all French
biography, and as well the whole CD booklet is in French.
Last but not least, all their tracks have French titles
as well. So, whats there to explain for me... my French
sucks, so lets just go on with the review of their debut
EP 'Addiction'.
The release kicks off with 'Témoin Funèbre'. It opens
with dark electronic FX sampling, soon to be followed by
gentle guitars and dark, atmospheric keylines. The song
mostly consists of gentle electronic samplings,
distorted guitars and strong keylines. The diverse vocal
lines (clean female vocals - grim male vocals) fit the
song very well. 'Allégeance' has more experimental
keylines. The vocal lines and the guitar riffs are
blessed with a more brutal sound, without that the song
loses it's accessable attitude. 'Chirurgie' opens with a
heart machine. The song that comes afterwards is gentle
and easy listening, with old school gothic metal parts
mixed with EBM and dark electro parts. 'Symbiose' has
the most disturbing as well experimental FX works of the
release, which is spread all over the track. The song
itself is pretty gentle, with decent guitars and
recogniseable vocal lines. 'Qu'adviendrons nous'is
surprisingly brutal when you compare it with the other
tracks. It has future pop synthlines, strong guitars and
dark vocal lines.
Tenebrarum Infanteus has delivered quite a stunning
debut with their 'Addiction' EP. The songs are all build
very decently, and the characteristic style they perform
is recogniseable and accessable. I've heard less
impressive debuts I can tell you! A good soundtrack for
your cold and dark winter days.
