Artist: INHUMANDOLLS
Album: Androgynous
Year: 2006

When Brian Wolfram left Dope Stars Inc, he promised to return with a new project. InHumanDolls is the result: an Italia based band in vein of old KMFDM and more. Androgynous is the five track debut EP, which has been released near the end of 2005.

After the industrial, instrumental intro the EP really kicks off with “Androgens”. This is an easy listening song, in vein of old KMFDM. Musically this song doesnt bring anything new or special, but it is kind of catchy in a way. I like the guitar sound, which gives the whole package a little more an industrial sound. Good song, lets go to the next track. “Dolls” is a less powerful song in general, although there are some agressive parts hidden here and there. This song has a more poppy feeling, which is pretty much a shame if you ask me. The sampling is pretty childish here and there as well. I am not a big fan of this song as you might have suspected. Next up is a cover of a band called ‘Cult’. I don’t know the band nor the original version of “Rain”, and the download program didnt help me out as well. Not really much to compare though, but I have to say that this is a nice song. It is catchy, which is good. There are some nicely mixed parts of industrial and (hard)rock hidden in this song. Although they say that the last song is Useless, I still decided to gave that one a listen as well. A Neon:Synthesis sounding intro is followed up by some kind of ballad. Musically it is not bad, but I dont think that Brian’s voice is really made for songs like this. What else about this song? Well, its very simple constructed, like the whole EP. Is this a band with potention? Maybe if they take some more time in the rehersal room in stead of standing in front of the mirror, doing their make up. Nice first try, but not impressive at all.
