Artist: THE KOVENANT
Album: Animatronic
Year: 1999
The Kovenant is a pretty famous band from Norway. Lex (Nagash)
and Psy (Blackheart) are the members, completed with
Hellhammer on drums. After the award-winning Nexus
Polaris they released Animatronic in 1999.
In my opinion this is the best release of The Kovenant
so far. Great atmosphere, lots of variation and lyrics
filled with sorrow and grief... this has to be the new
and improved Kovenant. After Nexus they continued their
tradition making every album different and that is one
of the things I really love about this band. Well,
Animatronic is more industrial and way more atmospheric
than the elder releases. Songs like Mirrors Paradise,
New World Order and Jihad are melodic though pretty
brutal, while songs like Mannequin are drowning in
sorrow. And don’t forget the brilliant cover of the
Babylon Zoo hit Spaceman!
