Artist: ENSOPH
Album: Bleeding Womb Of Anake
Year: 2001

It was a few months ago, when our forum admin Damnation_6 told me in an extatic way that he found some real cool band. He described it to me as "Cradle of Filth meets gothic", which caught my attention as well. I listened to some songs, and a few months later I managed to get hold on an album of them. Bleeding Womb Of Anake: a review.

This complex album is one with highlights and one with deep shadows. Songs like Shattered Void and The Spiral Stygmata are brilliant, when songs like Aletheia are quite boring. I like the fact that they use lots of different elements in their music, and the vocals are quite impressive as well. The whole album is covered in an atmospheric ambiance, which is exeptional for this kind of music. My last words: it is a pity though that this album lays inbetween danceable gothic and (black) metal, so you sometimes look very surprised when one follows on another. But, to be surprised is not that terrible, don't you think?
