Reborn Z from Germany is a band I got to know a little
time ago, because of Reza from Golem 101. Their whole
Broken Glass demo is downloadable from their site. They
make some kind of industrial death metal, with lots of
symphonic influences.
The first song is called "Your Eyes". Long intro,
followed by some great symphonic choruses and couplets
of pure industrial death metal, which remind me to
Malmonde in a way. There is a lot of sorrow hidden in
this song, and the quality of the sound surprised me in
a positive way (it doesnt sound like a demo if you know
what I mean). After "Your Eyes", it is time for the
title song called "Broken Glass". Same concept with the
couplets, but the chorus is pretty weak if you ask me.
The music is good, but the "Walking... walking...
walking... walking on the broken glass" gets really
boring. Also in this song: great atmosphere. "Dive" is
the third song of this demo. The intro is really
industrialized, and the vocals on this track are way
different than on the other songs. This song reminds me
in a far way of Tiamat, but it is a little more
industrialized. Best song of the demo if you ask me! "10
minutes" aint 10 minutes long, but it is the last song
of this interesting demo. Pretty strange couplets if you
ask me, I dont know how to explain it, but it just
sounds kinda weird when you compare it with the rest of
the demo. Sounds more like a Svenia song, but a little
more industrialized. Well, some final words: this band
really is talented, and got a good chance to become big
when they develope a little more.
