Undercover Slut from Paris is a band that already has
seen several parts of the world when it comes to touring,
but also when it comes to the music itself. They are one
of those bands that doesnt stick at one genre, but dares
to paint out of the lines. ‘Communism is Facism’ is
released somewhere in 2004, under Apokalypse Records.
That this is a band with many different faces, can be
called a fact after this record. For example: ‘Darling
Darling’. While the first seconds bring memories back of
the good period of Rammstein, the rest of the song
sounds like some punky Marilyn Manson track. A song like
“Assasination Is Salvation” could fit in the very same
category. Songs like ‘Narcotics | cOsmetic’ and
‘Ecstasia In Our Enema’ are something totally different.
Less hysterical and way more darker. Some technical
parts here and there (including a good guitar solo on
‘Narcotics | cOsmetic’) make tracks like these of a more
easy listening kind. The further you get to the end,
you’ll get to notice that all songs can be stuffed in
one of these categories. More hysterical songs are
swapped with more deeper songs without getting bored.
Undercover Slut is a band that manages to combine many
different influences without beeing a rip-off. The
vocals sound like a wet cat here and there, but it fits
to the music in a good way. And in the end, when you
have also checked out the multimedia video, this album
can be stuffed in the ‘good shit’ department of any
Marilyn Manson, Punish Yourself, Oomph! and Murderdolls
fan. And besides, where do you else find a non-grindcore
album with 15 tracks?
