Artist: ELYZIUM
Album: Promo
Year: 2006

Elyzium is another new band from the United States. This three-piece says to get their influences out of rock, metal, industrial, IDM, electronica and techno. The first attempt to bring these styles together in their own package is a this track promo.

‘Lost’ is the first track, and although the lyrics does not sound that happy, the music seems excellent for some cool party. Pieces of Nine Inch Nails, DyNAbyte, KMFDM and Dope Stars Inc. are hidden around every corner, and the catchy attitude of this track makes the feeling to party even stronger. The intermezzo is some great techno likely piece of wicked sampling and bouncing beats. ‘Thin Thread’ is drowned in old school elements, with Nine Inch Nais likely sampling and some heavy rock sounding chorus. Less catchy, less fast, but clearly appropriate to party. ‘Spell’ is a more emotional track, with deep vocals and dark sampling. The guitars are snoaring like a chainsaw that is bringing down a tree, which fits this song excellent. Maybe ‘Spell’ is less apropriate to party on, but that will not spoil the fun at all. Accept the different face of this band, and once and for all: Party hard! Fans of the bands I mentioned should definitely give Elyzium a try.
