Artist: ABORYM
Album: Generator
Year: 2006
A lot has happened with Italian industrial black metal
Gods of Aborym since their ‘With No Human Intervention’
release some time ago. Atilla Csihar (Mayhem and more)
left the band and has been replaced by Prime Evil (Mysticum).
Also Faust (ex-Emperor) replaced the drum machine and so
the industrial black metal band became a symphonic black
metal machine. Then why review it? Well, because of the
reputation Aborym still has, and secondly because the
album turned out to be great!
Season of Mist is the accomplice for this release upon
mankind, and they did an excellent job again. Aborym may
have lost their industrial attitude, but they still
remain as obscure as ever! Opening with the infamous
quote of Charles Manson ("Believe me, if I started
murdering people, there'll be none of you left") they
already give the kickoff for the rest of the album.
Obscure lyrics, great symphonic parts and some excellent
midtempo black metal stuff. Touches of the old Emperor
are clearly hearable, as well a bit of the old Mayhem.
When the voice of Charles Manson appears in ‘Suffer
Catalyst’ again, you are already in a deep trance. This
stuff kills, crashes and sacrifices everything on its
bloody way. If you want to know how to philosophize with
Satan, Generator is your bible!
