Artist: PENTATONIK
Album: Hellä
Year: 2006
Pentatonik is a Finnish industrial metal band. In 2005
they released their "II" album upon mankind, which
recieved a nice review on this webzine as well. Now they
strike back with a five track EP called 'Hellä', all
blessed with Finnish tracktitles that sound like
gibberish to me.
'Huorain Jumala' is the first track of the EP. It's an
easy listening track, with cyber metal elements and dark,
old school parts. 'Iholla' is a more uptempo song, with
wicked FX works and powerful drumming. The guitars and
the vocals fit the track excellently. 'Tahdon Olla Sulle
Hellä' is a more sensitive track, with clean and dark
vocal parts and cold keylines. The gentle drumming
remains powerful, which give the track an extra booste.
It's the most accessable track on the release. The next
track is blessed with the cute little name 'Unessakävelijä'.
It's a diverse track with powerful guitars and drums,
recogniseable vocal lines and experimental keylines. 'Täydellinen
Kontrolli' is already the final track on the release.
It's a fast, modern cyber metal track with a dark
attitude - in my opinion the best track of the release.
Pentatonik doesn't manage to reply the good score of
their 'II' album, since the tracks on this EP sound more
sterile than the album songs. Still, a very decent score
though. If you're into Deathstars, The Kovenant and
KMFDM, try to find some Pentatonik music - you'll like
it for sure.
