Artist: HUMATRONIC
Album: Humatronic
Year: 2009

Humatronic is an industrial metal band hailing from the capital of Belgium. It evolved from a more "classic" band named Blame when the members decided that it was time for a brand new name and some cyber influences within their music. As far as the information online and in the press package goes, this self titled EP is the debut release under this name. According to the same press package we can expect a "mix of raw brutality with musicianship, efficiancy and complexity".

The release opens with 'An4bolism'. It's an instrumental intro moving from ambient sounds to heavy sounding industrial metal with a marching attitude. 'T3tsuo' is a brutal cyber metal track, consisting of powerful drumming, excellent riffing and brutal vocal lines. The welladded samples is essential for the cyberish attitude. 'Hmtrnc' is a nicely flowing midtempo cyber metal track, including a strong edge of wave. It goes from brutal metal parts accompanied by electronic samples to ambient alike passages creating an industrial atmosphere all over the song. 'Soleil' is more midtempo based, coming with an old school touch on the riffing. It also contains gentle though powerful drumming, dark vocal lines and haunting samples. 'Hubris' is a more sensitive track, sailing from dark wave passages to Rammstein alike outbursts. It's built on diverse clean riffing and a spine of easy going drumming, blending in well with the vocal lines. 'Catabol1sm' is already the last track on this EP, an haunting instrumental outro that comes with major touches of ambient.

In the end, this EP shows us that Humatronic has a lot of potential when it comes to songwriting, originality and sampling and will be a good alternative for bands such as The Kovenant, Malmonde and Samael. What more do we want? Indeed - a full-lenght release!
