Artist: CARRIER FLUX
Album: Introspective Nightmare
Year: 2000
It is always pretty surprising how one man projects turn
out to be. Will it be an undiscovered genius, or just
another wannabe trying to break through and become a
rockstar? Carrier Flux is a one man project as well, of
Jeff Philips who was also known for his work in a band
called Cold Colours. All his releases are downloadable
from his website, including this very same album. A
review.
This album can be described in one word if you ask me:
experimental. This album is a delicate mix of very
different styles, like doom metal, death metal, black
metal, dark metal and of course industrial. Every song
has a different dosis of every style, which makes this
album one to discover. There is one particular song I
would like to mention though. “The Golden Thorns of
Angst” has an orchestral intro, and afterwards comes a
brilliant mix of power metal, dark metal, black metal
and industrial. The clean vocals sound a bit weird here
and there, though this is my favourite track of this
cool album. Download it for free on www.carrierflux.com
and spread the word!
