Artist: PSYDOLL
Album: I Psydoll
Year: 2004

Inbetween the releases you recieve from all sides of Europe and the States, sometimes there’s a release from a less common country. When we had for example the Psy-Kick album (Brazil) last year, this time I recieved a promo from a band all the way from Japan. Psydoll says to be an industrial J-Rock band, and consists of three members. The “I Psydoll” release is not a new one, since it already has been released in 2004.

Well, I can be quite short about this album. It’s a mix between J-Rock and cyberpunk, and it does not really appeal that much to me compared with ‘normal’ cyberpunk. Songs like “Sleeping Beauty”, “Machinery Lemmings” and “His Melody” are cool ones and easy listening stuff, but the other songs that are more J-Rock based sound rather boring in my ears. I’d give them this rating because this band clearly exists of good musicians, creativity and an own style, but it’s just that this style does not really appeal to me. Fans of J-Rock should probably rate this album about 20 points higher, so maybe it’s a good idea for them to check this out.
