Akado from Russia says to be a so-called ‘Intelligent
Visual Rock’ band. Since the music scene in Russia also
suffers from downloading, ripping, etc. they decided to
put their EP single online for free downloading.
According to them, these songs together can show mostly
all sides of their music and style. It consists of five
tracks, and can be downloaded for free on their website.
‘Gilles De La Tourette’ is the title of the first song
of the EP. This is a modern industrial metal track, with
wicked drumming, powerful guitars and various vocal
works. Its a very powerful track, with a dark atmosphere.
The people who are curious about the lyrics of a song
called ‘Gilles De La Tourette’, they’re in Russian so I
can’t mention them here. Next up is a song with a very
weird title (somehow the Russian font isn't viewable
over here). It consists of insane drumming, growling and
clean vocals and industrial metal guitarwork. The
keylines in the chorus are very well placed, and give it
a certain atmosphere. ‘Kuroi AIDA’ is an intermezzo, on
which gentle female vocals are swapped with powerful
male vocal parts. Musically this song is diverse, with a
protounding bassline, distorted guitars and nice
programming works.
Next up are two remixes, done by some wellknown names in
the Russian scene (at least thats what they say!). The
first one is a danceable remix of the ‘Kuroi Aida’ song,
with some dark sampling and future pop keyworks. The
second one is more wicked, with hyperactive sampling and
more stuff left over from the original song (with a
special mention to the guitars).
Before this EP, I wasn’t familiar with this band at all,
and probably neither were most of you. If the songs on
this EP really are representable for the band in its
current form, then I can’t wait to hear more of them.
Another very cool exciting act from Russia... I’m
starting to think that there’s something weird in the
air over there!
