Artist: FUCKTORY-X
Album: Life Feeds On Blood
Year: 2005
It almost seems like there is a plague in Italy when it
comes to new industrial acts. One of my latest
discoveries is Fucktory-X, an industrial death metal
band from Verona. Born in 2003, this band released their
first EP in 2005 called ‘Life Feeds On Blood’.
After the 2 minutes and 40 seconds intro, the EP kicks
off with ‘Enter The Temple Of Madness’. This is some
decent death metal song, and with the electonic loops
here and there this band already created a recognisable
sound. The more brutal guitar parts are like heaven to
my ears. ‘Apathy’ walks on the same path. Downtuned
stuff, with some electro/industrial intermezzo’s here
and there. This song is a bit more catchy, while the
preverious one sounded a little more mature if you ask
me. ‘Female Blood’ starts with an electronic intro, but
afterwards Fucktory-X shows a more blackned death side
of themselves. Black metal guitar riffs with death metal
drums.. think of bands like Belphegor for example. And
of course, some weird industrial intermezzo is present
here as well! ‘Wisdome Of The Pure’ has a long intro
part (after about one and a half minutes the song
finally really kicks off). Afterwards, Fucktory-X
provides some more midtempo death metal. Downtuned and
decent stuff. Die to return is maybe the most
experimental song of the EP. Symphonic and slow parts
are mixed with midtempo parts, which make this song that
is very hard to review. In the end I must say that I
enjoyed every minute of the almost 27 minutes on this
EP. It also makes me wondering. Are the industrial
influences only an experiment? Or will they going to use
them more and more in the future? Will this become a
death metal band with industrial influences, or can we
expect an industrial death record in common with
Malmonde and Interlock for example? Time will show, but
for now, this is a promising start.
