Artist: MIKSHA
Album: Collect Your Hazardous Waste
Year: 2006

An industrial metal band hailing from Vadso, Norway near the artic circle Tor Age Ballo, Fritz R. Pettersen, Kim-Erling Johansen formed Miksha in 1999 after quitting the hardcore band Profound, later adding Mathis Stale Mathisen. As with most metal bands they were seen as "very loud" by their own hometown added with the success of Miksha EP release has me ready to hear what they have to offer with this 12 track release. The bands name was inspired from Ron Miksha, an author who allegedly developed chemical farware techniques for the us during the Vietnam war. The groups influences include Rammstein, Bjork, Faith No More, NIN Inch Nails, and Slipknot.

The first track,” Locomotive", starts in with the hard sound that is strong throughout the track. It however manages to add a unique blend. Next, "Reflect, Conclude, Return", brings a darker sound with beats that just grab you. It has a chaotic quality. The third track, "Beautiful War", extreme and strong guitar and drums accompanied with excellent vocals. This track offers a sound that is familiar and fun. Next, "Concept Bi_polar", fast beat brings the start followed by mellowed out piano an interesting composition, blended very well. Next, "What Fight", has an eerie quality hard and strong, with vocals being the softening points and only in points through out the track. Sixth track, "Win, Win", has an almost haunting feel, before jumping in with fierce vocals, guitar and drums. Track seven, "First in Line", has a bizarre opening sound before diving head first into more intense guitars. Next, "Behind the Scenes", has a more industrial feel the lyrics and guitar remains very strong the additional sounds adds and almost x-files feel to this track. The ninth track, "So Solid", very much industrial almost atmospheric hardcore, the composition is done well. Next, "The Hunger", has an amazingly eerie opening which is followed into the track but behind the hard lyrics and solid sound beats. Next up, "The Coop", has a metal infused sound with vocals that are soft to strong throughout with guttural and high screams a wonderful blend. The sounds from synthizers and the guitar a great blend with a complete and solid sound. Last track, "Sedated", has an extremely dark feel to it very mellowed out the vocals offering an edge to it.

This album has an overall strong feel very hardcore with keeping in the industrial in many of their tracks, its a great listen. In various tracks they throw you with an eerie sound quality that is a great change up from he norm or the other tracks. A great album to have and I am looking forward to see what they bring next to the mix.
