Artist: OBSZON GESCHOPF
Album: Erection Body Mutilated
Year: 2009

Obszon Geschopf is a one man project lead by mister Remzi Kelleci. The project was born in the French city of Boulogne-Sur-Mer around 1996/1997 and started releasing stuff for the first time in 2000. In this brand new millennium, Remzi managed to spread the name of his project around in the underground scene quite well, by - next to some releases - playing gigs in several European cities, remixes for a bunch of cool bands and as well much promotion online. The American label BLC Productions picked this project up to release the freshly new 'Erection Body Mutilated', a 2CD album including a bonus CD with remixes from bands such as Vigilante, Cynergy 67 and Bosch.

The release opens with 'My First Piece of Meat'. It's a marching midtempo track with recogniseable vocal lines and repetative distorted sampling and riffing. 'Ogre of Montana' pretty much walks the same path, but it's blessed with a more haunting atmosphere and a more danceable attitude. It comes with the rhytm of a heartbeat and disturbing samples that fit the music surprisingly well. The title track, 'Erection Body Mutilated', follows. It comes with a dark electro spine, influenced with a little EBM and old school wave, and is most of all danceable and blessed with the attitude of a potential clubhit. 'Bloodfeast' comes with an extremely catchy and repetitive synthline. It's furthermore constructed with distorted riffing and a danceable rhytm, making it a more than decent track once again. 'Goresex' (what a lovely name again!) pretty much follows the same route, with the exception that it has lesser distortion and more recogniseable vocal lines, making it a bit more accessable. 'Deranged' is an accessable dark electro track, with welladded vocal lines and riffing and a heavy rhytm. 'The Sex Beast' is my personal favorite track on the release, and not because of it's name. It comes with a dark electro spine (very wicked synthline) and haunting vocal lines, and includes welladded cold synthlines and distorted riffing and a danceable attitude. 'John Wayne Gacy' is maybe the most metal based track on the release, with a decent riff and bashing programming wellmixed with the vocal lines and the industrial musical works. 'I'm Freak' is a little more downtempo and comes with a dark atmosphere. The riffing slides from harshness to darkness, while the repetative programming gives the song a certain accessibility. 'The Love Butcher' moves from industrial metal parts to dark electro parts, with small touches of wave and EBM. It's again one of the tracks that will have a more wide appeal inside the metal genre. 'Urge To Kill' is another recogniseable tune, with a repetative bassline and riffing and well-harmonized sampling and vocal lines. 'Port Elizabeth Massacre' is a very wicked midtempo electro metal track, with strong dark riffing and a heavy attitude. The second part of this release comes in the form of a remix CD. It comes with quite a bunch of cool remixes, beeing a nice bonus on this release.

With 'Erection Body Mutilated', Obszon Geschopf delivers us a nice alternative for both the electro and metal world. Don't expect anything new and super groundbreaking, but do expect something tasteful and delicious. EBM and dark electro teaming up with industrial metal!
