Pentatonik formed in 2002 only to disband five years later. They reformed that same year and with a new line up, JP Immonen guitar, programming, synths, and vocals, Lembit Krull bass, Henri Eerola vocals, and Jaakko Nieminen guitar. The band hails from Finland and are currently on Kantama records.
First track, Vaistolla elaimen, its has a very strong metal sound with strong vocals in a guttural sound. The keyboards add a great sound to the mix. Next up, Enkeleita, goes more too the industrial side with the hard vocals. Composed well this track all blends together in way that you can’t help but move. Next track, Tuhkasta nousen taas, has a very strong start an almost mellow sound through out. Fourth track, Mina tahdon sinua, almost pure industrial start with rhythmic guitar and hard, deep vocals. The ending is more hardcore metal. The fifth track, Mustaski Muutan, has a slower metal sound very melodic. This track seems almost ballad like with deep vocals. Next track, Yokuu, has an almost electro pop start with guitars adding a touch of metal to the start. The vocals have a rough sound that adds a contrast to the more mellow keyboards. It ends on a much harder metal sound then the start. Next up, Kelvoton, an edgy rock sound starts it off the guitar mellow out and have the keyboards take over with the vocals, before busting in with a hard edge and screaming vocals. Eighth track, Uneni elamaan, a slower metal sound that has the same sound throughout not much changing or surprise in this track. Ninth track, Aina ne palvat, a more 80s glam rock sound to it. The vocals are still hard as well as a few guitar riffs. Last track, Sinusta mitaan, a very metal start with some electronic bits through out but staying true to the metal music. The vocals are strong and rough a perfect combination for this track.
II has an overall similar sound, once in a while throwing a few twists to the mix. I found this album to be a bit slow, I do think this band has a great potential and do hope that they put that into their next release.
