What the Hell does ‘Pirun Nyrkki’ means? And what about
‘Turmion Kätilöt’? Well my friend, I have no idea. But
should you care about that, when you remember their
‘Niuva 20’ EP that blown your head far away? I don’t
really think so. This time, Turmion Kätilöt strikes
again with a full lenght album (again on Ranka/Spinefarm)!
Eleven new tracks, waiting to be released out of my
subwoofer and to conquer my brains!
The concept that was used on their EP still is the same.
Take a bit of trance, electro or even a little techno
and mix it with industrial metal on a way as crazy as
possible. This resulted in a very powerful EP last year,
and this time we have a very powerful full lenght here.
This results in some very different tracks. For example,
‘Eläköön’ sounds highly T. Raumschmiere influenced while
‘Härkä’ has a bit of the harsh EBM and the noise touch.
Songs like ‘Tirehtööri’ and the title track (‘Pirun
Nyrkki’) are more of my favourites though. Take all the
music styles I mentioned before, put them in a blender
and open it when it’s at full speed! Powerful and
blasting stuff! A track like ‘Mtv/Dna’ has a more poppy
sound, while ‘Illuusio Musiikista’ and ‘Messu’ turned
out to be just some intermezzo’s. In the end, this album
turns out to have some cool songs for lots of different
music fans, and I wouldn’t be surprised if people tell
me that this band plays on major metal festivals ánd
major trance festivals! This is killer stuff to say the
least! Fans of MortIIs, Pain, The Kovenant and Dope
Stars Inc., for you all this is a must have!
