Artist: PSY-KICK
Album: Promo-2004
Year: 2004

Because of the Kovenant forum (yes indeed, again) I could enlarge my knowledge: cyber metal also exists in Brazil! And they are pretty talented as well: Sao Paolo’s Psy-Kick, born in 2004, released their first promo, simply called Promo-2004, upon some well-known people in the scene. This promo contains two songs.

The first song is called Surperior. This song consists of an intro straight out of cyberspace, followed by some powerful cyber metal. The chorus of this song is very catchy and recognisable, although I cannot understand a fuck of what they say. This song could fit pretty well on the Synthetic Generation record, done by Deathstars. This song is also shining in its originality, and is very danceable. The second song reminds me in a (very far) way to ...And Oceans. Temptation is a song a little less powerful but a little more ‘metal’. The fact that this song is a little more slow doesn’t mean that it gets boring. The icy grunts on this song reminds me to the way Aborym performs vocals. The intro reminds me in a way to Division Alpha, but when the vocals start I cannot say anything than the following: this band has created an own, special, spacy style. Another thing to remind: these guys know very well how to use the samples in their music. This band is a bright spot in the existing Brazilian metal scene because of its originality and variation. This band has got the potential to make it. Hear my words!
