Artist: BLOOD
Album: Psike
Year: 2005

What unusual things can happen on a certain Friday afternoon? Doing some work on the site, when the manager of a Spanish band called Blood contacts me. Industrial? Yes, we had a deal. Why not a review as well? Yeah sure! So here I am now, on this Friday afternoon, listening to a Spanish industrial band, having no idea what to expect.

After the title track which happens to be the intro, Psike starts off with ‘Sangre’. This song is pretty much reprensatentive for the whole album. Clean vocals, catchy melodies and some robotic sampling is the recepy for every song of this album. So there is no variation? Oh, there definitely is! Every song has its own identity. Some songs are more focused on the industrial parts, while others are more based on the dark, gothic side of the music. Its an easy listening record, which is good. The best song of this record has to be ‘No More’, or ‘No Mas’. Its a brilliant mix between industrial and metal, with a catchy attitude. So looking for something new? This all, combined with the Spanish lyrics, make this into an unique record. This band is already conquering Spain these days, what will be next? For fans of bands like Xe-None, Rammstein and why not... KMFDM?
