Artist: RAM-ZET
Album: Pure Therapy
Year: 2000
I came in touch with this band when I heard that the new
The Kovenant drummer was Küth from Ram-Zet. Offcourse I
was curious for his work as a drummer so I checked the
band out. After I downloaded the song “Queen” from the
Escape album at the Century Media site I pressed play at
my Windows media player. What I heard just blew me away,
a few minutes later I put an order at a mail order
company for the two Ram-Zet album’s “Pure Therapy” and
“Escape”. Five days later my order arrived, what I got
didn’t disappoint at all.
The music of Ram-Zet is very hard to describe because
you have to hear it yourself, but I will give it a try
(I have to review it you know). First of all I have to
start with that Mr. Zet is a genius (or a complete
madman), you have to be to make such great complex
music. To describe the music I have to use the terms
Dark, Heavy, insane and beautiful. The music is very
heavy sounding and cold, the music consists of great
guitar play, very heavy Bass, industrial rhythm’s,
majestic keys, violin, Grimm and insane vocals by Zet
and beautiful female vocals on the background. This all
together makes this music a journey to listen to.
Normally I would throw a “Track by Track” part in this
review but it is my humble opinion that you should
experience it yourself. But I can say already, if your
into extreme music and like bands with a very own and
interesting style this is something for you. Yep another
quality product from Norway (How do those guys do
it????)
