Artist: DESTINED TO
FESTER
Album: Pxlgreiii
Year: 2008
Destined to Fester is a brand new band from the U.S.A.
It exists out of four members (including Dodd from
HeritecH), but four people didn't seem enough for this
EP appearantly, so there are three more guest members
added for this release.
As you might have seen already on the tracklist, this
release consists of just one track. The fact that this
track is nearly 10 minutes long made this band probably
decide to call this an EP in stead of a (web)single or
something... anyway, about the music now. The first four
and a half minutes are filled with ambient and
industrial sounds. From there until about 5:45, we're
thrown into a brutal musical part with influences from
grindcore (cybergrind) to noise and some subtile black
metal touches. The brutal part seems to die an
unexpected death, when it turns into some cold ambient
works again, but the track goes back to brutal after a
while. Again some cybergrind influenced part follows,
but this time a bit more experimental. After a little
protounding bassworks, we find some surprise; an old
school industrial rock/metal part, mixed and swapped
with some brutal, black metal influenced parts. The
track ends with pure brutality, where blastbeats are
mixed with wicked guitarwork.
So well, one long track with different (but not so
different) elements, and the EP is finished already.
There's not much more left to say in the end (and not
much to rate either, so there will be none). It's not
for the weaker soul, or for the "standard" industrial
metal fan, but if you feel like you can handle the
pressure, give them a try.
