Artist: FORGOTTEN SUNRISE
Album: Ru:mipu:dus
Year: 2004

Forgotten Sunrise is a band who started more than ten years ago. Slowly, they went from melodic death metal to so-called ‘deathbeat’. I found out about this band when I was surfing on EstonianMetal.com. The band was added, and an interview was arranged the very same day. Missing was an album review. Well, now it isn’t missing anymore! Ru:mipu:dus was released in 2004 and it brings you in the cold world of the so-called deathbeat world.

The first thing that I noticed about this record is the variation. Very harsh, industrial songs (like Outomnyo:nic) are followed up by cold, kinda EBM likely songs (like Never(k)now). On the other side, songs like Thou-Sand-Men (which remind me to L’Âme Immortelle in a way) are very danceable as well and could be played on all kind of gothic parties. Great sampling and keys! Dark, cold, power, everything is created. This is one of the few existing records with no fillers. I love the male vocals on this record, and the way it is mixed with the female vocals fit really good to this kind of music. Although, I think the female vocals could be more orchestral, if you ask me that fits better. But, this is the only little thing I got against this record. If this is deathbeat, I adore it! This will be a record that shall be played a lot by me in the future! Nice bonus thing: a video of Never(k)now, which is one of my favourite songs of this record.
