Album: Start The Process
Year: 2006
Techny-Call X is a new band hailing from France. It
consists of ex-members of Seth (wellknown black metal
band), Monarchia Daemonium (extreme metal band) and
more. ‘Start The Process’ is the first result of this
new collaboration of different scenes. It contains four
tracks, with a total time of 17 minutes.
‘Ascendancy’ happened to be a dark, ambient likely intro,
but when ‘Erasing’ starts, some surprisingly cool sounds
are blasted through my speakers. Dark EBM sampling is
mixed with a heavy bassline and dark distorted
guitarwork, accompanied by vocals that really reminds me
to Samael. The song is decently build, a little
danceable, but above all dark and very atmospheric.
‘Start The Process’ contains more guitars than the
preverious track, but it doesn’t affect the darkness
level in the song. A great atmospheric track, with some
beautiful synth parts hidden behind the metal. There’s a
certain catchy tone in this track too. ‘Deliverance’ is
not made to break with the same dark atmosphere,
fortunately. It’s again a song build on an EBM spine,
with dark vocals and metal guitars. It has some great
EBM intermezzos, that might even appeal to fans of
Suicide Commando and :Wumpscut:.
After listening to this demo, I am still stunned by its
quality. In these times, when a lot of new industrial
metal bands seem to get birth, it’s hard to find quality
debut releases like this one. Fans of bands like Samael,
Malmonde and newer bands like The Sin:Decay should
definitely check this band and this release out! The
only bummer of this release is that it just contains
three tracks and an intro, I would die for this to be a
full lenght release!
