MortIIs man of surprises did it again this time with an
new music style and he left his ambient skill behind to
make new kind of ebm music this time with the new album
and introducing to his new Era 2 The Smell of Rain
The first song of this album intrigued me Parasite God
that catchy tuned amused me and binds me form the
beginning of the album, it was so different then his
Ambient styled albums like, Fodt til A Herske and Keiser
av ein Dimension Ukjent wich are my two ambient styled
albums, but no further were are now at MortIIs Era 2 as
he calls him. After Parasite God I was arrived at Mental
Mealstrom at that reminded at an old EBM kind of song
with nice clean vocals, it is nice to see this new style
of him since he is the originator of the song I Am the
Black Wizards he wrote in his early days for the Black
Metal band Emperor. After the 2 nice songs I arrived at
the cool song Spirit in an Vacuum with some nice female
clean nice female vocals from Sarah Jezebel Deva (Sarah
Jane Ferridge) this song has almost an catchy digital
feeling of an someone who plays violin but this time
with synthesizers and electro programming. At the end of
Spirit in an Vacuum there are some pretty awesome
Orchestral arrangements. I arrived at Monolith which is
in my opinion an good low mid tempo kind of some very
useful to relax after an long day of working. Now we
have arrived by the 2nd fav song of the album called You
Put an Hex of me wich is an kind of trendy song with
nice electronics an cool clean vocals, even in this song
the lyrics and the vocals swept me from the floor again
I have the same feeling by Smell The Witch. When I
listen to Everyone Leaves it remembers me if you have
depart from one you love and sometimes when I am sad I
listen myself to this song. Marshland is an nice mid
tempo aggressive ebm kind of song with nice metal
influences this song is good for dance at gothic
festivals like Wave Gothic Treffen. Antimental is an
normal kind of song nothing too complain about it only
on all of his songs he used nice orchestral
arrangements, clean vocals and back choir with is indeed
an rebirth in his Era2 while The Grudge is Era 3 of him
Era 1 was his black metal past and ambient past. Smell
the With is an cool song which is together with You put
an Hex On Me, Parasite God my favourite song of the
album. Smell the Witch is one of the best songs of the
album with nice electronics, clean vocals, choirs and
even metal influences me like that of the new MortIIs.
