Glaukom Synod... haven’t I heard of this before? Yes, I
really have. The first (rather promising) demo of this
nothern French one man project is still fresh in my
memories, so this third demo ‘Uczulony’ will give me a
perfect opportunity to check for any progressions or
newer things. First thing I noticed is that the artwork
looks better already, so I placed the CD in my CD player
and gave this one a listen as well. Oh, and since I have
copy number 070 of this demo, I think it is a limited
one as well, although I couldn’t find the number of
copies that were made.
And I must say that the artwork is not the only
improvement made. ‘Uczulony’ brings lots more variation
than ‘Obsessism XXII’, and the songs are more built to
give it a closer listen. :Wumpscut: influences are mixed
with some heavy bassloops (goregrind?) without any shame,
and it turned out to fit pretty well in the combination
named Glaukom Synod. Here and there, some EBM sounds are
added as well, which gives some tracks a cool dark
electro attitude (track two for example). All the stuff
is as chaotic and as violent as a pyamaparty in
Alcatraz, and as dark as the coffins out of Houdini
managed to escape. “So, any more grindcore samples again?”
I hear the readers of my first review ask. A quick check
on the website gives us a positive answer on this
question. Abyssal Suffering, Ravencult and even one of
my favourite bands Sadistik Exekution are somewhere
hearable through various samples all over this record.
Play this album at home, and your neighbours will think
that you work in an exploding powerplant!
